Check out how I made my recent Lakadong Turmeric soaps

Photos from SKIN JOYS's post 22/12/2021

Was thinking the other day which soap should I make next?

My heart said this time I should go all organic and natural and one that would befitting the winters. Some research brought me to the idea of using turmeric in my soap and more research made me discover Lakadong turmeric grown in the Northeastern hills of India. So what's the difference? Regular turmeric has 2-3% curcumin as opposed to Lakadong turmeric which has 7-9% curcumin which means more than double the benefits!! Isn't that awesome?? So higher the curcumin the more valuable is your turmeric. But how would you apply raw turmeric to your skin right? I got you covered.

These soaps are loaded with anti-inflamnatory, anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties making them a great natural remedy to fight acne and prevent bacteria from spreading. The result is clear, healthy and glowing skin. And if you're wondering, of course I used organic Lakadong turmeric when making these soaps!!

Since it's winters, I chose a blend of 10 fold orange essential oil and lemongrass essential oil for scenting them. 10 fold orange essential oil means the essential oil has been distilled 10 times to get the finest quality. If you're like me who likes seasonal scents then you're gonna love this one.

Available from January 3rd.

Have been wanting to change the brand name from quite sometime. Business owners would know how difficult it is to find a brand name these days. As of 2016 there was an estimated 300 million brands in the world already. By now the numbers have grown and are counting. With so many brands coming up it is getting really difficult to find a brand name. If you ask me, I heaved a sigh of relief after days of racking my brains of what should I name my brand.

I did choose a name earlier, but a very kind someone graciously pointed it out that it didn't ring a bell when you'd think of skincare. Well, even though I didn't altogether agree to that, something more that the same person asked was if the domain name was available. Now, that was something I never thought of. Extremely grateful to that kind soul for showing me the right direction.

I'd started this page without much thought and seriousness, but the case is different today as I delved deeper in the past months of educating myself and growing my vision.

So, how did I name my brand??!! Honestly, it was tedious but fun!! So happened that after days of research into finding a fitting name and if the domain for it was available, I couldn't zero down on anything.

One evening as we sat for evening snacks, my dog happened to sit on a couch and started to scratch himself. My little tailed monster's name is 'JOY' btw and, Eureka! Hit it up to find if the domain for what clicked at the moment was available. I felt like the days of hardwork finally was answered!! Thus, the name 'SKIN JOYS'. Extra chicken for my four legged bundle of joy for that.

So that's how the name came into being. I know a lot of you will like it and some maybe not. But it's a good one and it's simple too, something that I really wanted.

Here's hoping you guys continue to give and show your love to the brand new 'SKIN JOYS'.
