Ever feel like there are different voices in your head fighting for control? 🤯You aren't imagining things. Our minds constantly shift between three very different operating systems. When you understand which one is running the show, you can completely change how you work, lead, and live. Here is how it breaks down:🛡️ 1. The Survival Mind (Vigilance Mode)The Vibe: High stress, tension, and fear. The Action: It reacts instantly to protect you (fight, flight, or freeze). It hates change and clings to what is safe. The Result: You shrink back, avoid taking risks, and stay stuck in old habits.🧭 2. The Adaptive Mind (Learning Mode)The Vibe: High curiosity and quick thinking. The Action: It loves exploring new ideas and jumping between patterns. But without direction, it gets easily overwhelmed. The Result: Great for creative insights, but can leave you feeling scattered if not channeled.💎 3. The Directive Mind (Leadership Mode)The Vibe: Deep focus, calm clarity, and purpose. The Action: It thinks long-term, makes deliberate choices, and visualizes future solutions. The Result: This is where you unlock peak performance and long-term success. The Ultimate Goal:Stop letting the survival shield trap you. Reset your scattered thoughts, map your path, and shift into your directive leadership mode

Before You Reply, Find Your Circle
A teenager comes home, drops the bag, shuts the door, and says:
“Nobody understands me!”
The first reaction is often:
“Don’t talk to me like that!”
But what if we pause and ask a better question?
“What is really making you angry?”
Sometimes, anger grows when we spend our emotional energy on things we cannot control:
A friend’s opinion
Someone else’s behaviour
An unfair comment
A past mistake
An outcome we desperately wanted
In counselling sessions, I invite teenagers to imagine two circles:
Outside my control
Other people’s words, actions, opinions, and decisions.
Inside my control
My thoughts, words, choices, actions, and response.
Having worked extensively with teenage clients, I’ve seen how shifting attention from “Why are they doing this?” to “What can I do now?” creates space for a calmer, wiser response. The moment we make that shift, we stop handing over the steering wheel of our emotions to someone else.
This does not mean ignoring feelings. It means learning to pause before reacting, name what we feel, and choose our response.
A simple reminder for every teenager:
You may not control the situation, but you can still control your next step.
As parents and educators, let us teach children to pause, breathe, reflect, and respond. Helping young people identify what is within and beyond their control is a practical way to handle difficult emotions.
Pause. Breathe. Reflect. Respond.

School Counselling: A Quick Fix or a Complex Puzzle? Many people view school counselling through a very simplistic lens:
❌ A student brings a problem.
❌ The counsellor hands out advice.
The student feels better .
❌ The problem is instantly solved.
As if it is a simple, straight line but it is actually a sine wave ...
If it were that easy, it wouldn't require advanced psychological training.True school counselling isn't a factory assembly line. It is much more like piecing together a complex, beautiful puzzle. Every student brings a unique set of pieces ,their family dynamics, academic pressures, emotional struggles, and individual traits. As professionals, our job isn't to force a standard solution, but to work collaboratively to connect those pieces. It involves:Building a foundation of absolute trust and ethical confidentiality.Managing heavy crises like exam stress and peer pressure.Listening between the lines to uncover what students can't express .Engaging stakeholders by bridging communication between parents and teachers. We aren't just solving immediate problems; we are empowering lifelong potential.
🌱❓ What is the biggest misconception you have encountered about the counselling profession? Let’s open up the discussion in the comments below.

I’ve been thinking a lot about the state of our public conversations lately. It's completely okay to have different opinions on government and policy. But when that disagreement turns into personal, toxic abuse against others, we have a serious problem.Freedom of speech does not give anyone a free pass to insult others and spout absolute rubbish. India is an incredibly tolerant nation, but tolerance shouldn't mean staying silent when people cross the line of basic decency. Resorting to filthy, gutter-level language shows an unhealthy mental state fueled by pure hatred rather than logic.Honestly, it’s time for parents to reflect on what we are teaching our kids. Everything in our environment plays a part in this. We see cool, casual abuse on screens every day, and modern movies constantly glorify violence and toxic behavior. This media culture makes people think it is normal to treat others with hostility. We were all raised better than this. Respecting others is a core value, whether we like their policies or not. Losing an argument is fine, but let’s not lose our basic humanity in the process. We have to do better.Somewhere along the way, this generation started believing that being abusive is "cool." It’s not.

Mother's guilt is the heaviest guilt we carry. Sometimes we know it's okay, but other times we wonder: Is it really?
Choosing a deadline over a bedtime story, giving your work the priority , that guilt doesn't just sit; it settles deep, heavy as a stone in water.
But have u ever thought, Out of all relationships, why does being a mother give us the extremes of everything? Extreme sadness. Extreme guilt, But also extreme happiness, too.

"""Like a moon that pulls the ocean twice a day,
We tug at hearts we cannot always hold.
Like threads that stretch but never break,
We bend between what's needed and what's sold.
In the quiet rooms where guilt whispers soft,
We hear the echo of "not enough."
But in the laughter that fills our home,
We find the proof we're more than rough.,,""

It's the paradox of motherhood , we feel everything more intensely, more deeply. And that's both our burden and our beauty.
