What could possibly go wrong?
Quite a lot, actually. 😂
This was one of those long, tedious, slightly obsessive colour jobs where every section had to be just right but that’s also what makes the finished result so damn satisfying.
A ridiculous amount of time went into this one. 7hours to be precise.
And every minute was worth it. 💗💜🦝

Riya got me back to my early days of hairdressing when I first started in 2002 and remember styling All the girls of Viva so this was special. And it’s not every day you get a calico cat reference in hair colour and when you do, you absolutely run with it.
Riya’s got the chunky contrast, the unexpected colour placement and just the right amount of chaos.
Calico cat, but make it pop star. 🐈✨

So she came all the way to Bombay to get one.
And well… they were wrong.
Pixie cuts aren’t for a certain face. They’re for anyone who wants one.

She says what she thinks. Out loud. In public. Knowing exactly what comes with it.
You don’t have to agree with her to recognise what that takes.
And now she’s a mom - still unfiltered, still unwilling to shrink herself to make everyone else comfortable. What a brilliant example for her little one: that having a voice is worth using, even when the room doesn’t want to hear it.
Here’s to women who don’t edit themselves to make everyone else comfortable.
