`Indian fair girl jugaad: Making “wrong” foundations work 🫶

Reality: No single foundation matches me perfectly. So I don’t buy more — I fix what I have.

MY PROCESS:
STEP 0: COLOR CORRECT using Daily Life Forever 52 Camouflage HD Palette
💛 Yellow: Forehead to cancel pink tones

STEP 1: FOUNDATION
1. Maybelline Super Stay 115- Add yellow corrector or bronzer dot = no more ashy
2. SUGAR Rage For Coverage 07 ₹799 - Mix with Emolene = sheers to skin tone
3. Charlotte Tilbury 03 + 05 - Equal mix after correcting = closest match

Truth: Indian skin has 3-4 undertones on one face. Foundation alone won’t match. Correct first, then you need LESS product and it looks like skin.

I’ve spent ₹10K+ figuring this out. Save this so you don’t have to.

My 4-min-52-sec “cameras on” routine for oily skin in Mumbai

Products I actually used:
1.Toner: Plum Rice Water & 3% Niacinamide - oil control step
2. SPF: Dot & Key Vitamin C + E Sunscreen - no white cast, hydrating
3. Concealer: Maybelline Age Rewind Eraser - shade in comments
4. Lipstick: Nykaa Matte to Last

Why no moisturizer? The Dot & Key SPF is hydrating enough for my oily skin. If you’re drier, add a gel moisturizer after toner.

Not sponsored. Just my real WFH routine that survived 2 hours of calls today.

Save this if you panic when Slack says “quick huddle?”

At-home sweat test: L’Oréal Infallible Setting Mist

Real conditions: 33°C, 85% humidity, Mumbai
My skin: Oily, sweats easily, NOT acne-prone

Timeline:
• 10:00 AM: Makeup done, already sweating at home • 10:05 AM: 3-second setting mist • 12:15 PM: Back home after taxi + sun
Verdict: Didn’t stop me from sweating because duh, I’m human. BUT it stopped my makeup from melting with the sweat. Huge difference.

Still a little dewy? Yes. Greasy/patchy? No.
That’s the win for oily skin.

Not sponsored.

Save this if your makeup ghosts you by lunch. Comment SWEAT and I’ll send my full base routine.

5 minutes. 7 steps. Full face for work.
No complicated steps. Just the stuff that actually works when you're running late — which is every day, let's be honest 😭
The blush tip alone is going to change your whole morning routine.

Same foundation. Same shade. Totally different results — and it has NOTHING to do with the product. 🤍

The three things I wish someone had told me when I first started doing my makeup:

👉 Damp skin before foundation = game changer
👉 Stipple, don't swipe — always
👉 You don't need it everywhere — less is genuinely more

Save this for your next makeup day and thank me later 🔖

Purple under eyes? Use THIS, not concealer 💜

Save this! The color correcting guide for dark circles.

Peach = light/medium skin | Orange = deep skin tones

Color correct FIRST → concealer SECOND 🙌

So I tested all three tools with the same foundation, same skin, same lighting. And the results were so different it kind of broke my brain a little.

→ Brush gave me full coverage
→ Sponge gave me that blurred "my skin but better" finish (damp is non-negotiable, please)
→ Fingers? The most natural, melted-in look — and took 60 seconds

There's no winner here. Just the right tool for the right day. 🤍

Which one are you? Drop it below — I'm actually curious if I'm the only one who underestimated fingers for this long
