๐บMakar Sankranti is celebrated as a significant festival in India. โMakarโ means โCapricornโ and the movement of the sun into โMakara Raashiโ or the โZodiac of Capricornโ is called Makar Sankranti.
๐บWhat Should Be Done On Makar Sankranti?
Makar Sankranti is a time to consume freshly harvested food grains, which are first offered to the Gods and then eaten. Ayurveda suggests eating Khichdi since it is a light and an easily digestible food. The connotation of eating Khichdi is that it hints the body to prepare for the change in season, from the nourishing yet cold winter season to forthcoming warm, spring season.
๐บThe temperature around this time fluctuates from being cold to surprisingly lukewarm, which makes you susceptible to the imbalances in your body. Khichdi is the perfect dish to satiate the appetite and provide the body with the much-needed nutrition.
๐บApart from its benefits for your health, cooking and eating Khichdi on Makar Sankranti is symbolic of unity, since the dish is cooked in a single pot by uniting all the ingredients including freshly harvested rice, lentils, seasonal vegetables and spices, together. It signifies the process of life and regeneration, which further indicates the beginning of the new harvest year.
๐บAyurveda also suggests the intake of Sesame Seeds or the sweets made of Sesame Seeds and Jaggery on this divine day. Sankranti and Til (Sesame) are synonymous with each other as the festival is also commonly known as โTil Sankrantiโ. Sesame seeds have the ability to absorb negativity and improve the Sattva โ purity, goodness, and harmony, which in turn facilitates spiritual practice.
๐บMakar Sankranti symbolizes a new beginning for everyone. Itโs an occasion to forget the past and allow a new light to enter oneโs life. It gives us a chance to thank god for the prosperity and well-being throughout the year

Bad food combination that can ruin your health.
One of the the prime reasons for SKIN DISEASES is Incompatible Food Combinations.
It is no surprise to see on the market today so many digestive & dietary for stomach, along with pills for gas/indigestion/bloating.
Most of these conditions likely to begin with poor food combination.
This is a subject of much debate amid the growth concern about diet & the many theories of the topic.
Poor combing can produce indigestion, fermentation & if prolonged can lead to toxemia & diseases.
