26 जनवरी, 2022 को भारत अपना 73वां गणतंत्र दिवस (Republic Day) मना रहा है. गणतन्त्र दिवस भारत का एक राष्ट्रीय पर्व है जो प्रति वर्ष 26 जनवरी को मनाया जाता है। इसी दिन सन् 1950 को भारत सरकार अधिनियम (1935) को हटाकर भारत का संविधान लागू किया गया था। 2 साल, 11 महीने और 18 दिन के दौरान कुल 12 अधिवेशन, 166 दिन की बैठक और कुल 114 दिन की बहस के बाद 26 नवंबर, 1949 को हमारा संविधान पूरी तरह से बनकर तैयार हो गया था ।
आजादी हमें यूं ही नहीं मिली। इसके लिए न जाने कितने फांसी के फंदे पर झूले थे और न जाने कितनों ने गोली खाई थी, तब जाकर हमने यह आजादी पाई थी। देश ऋणी है उन क्रांतिवीरों का जिन्होंने देश को गुलामी की जंजीरों से मुक्त कराने के लिए अपना सर्वस्व न्योछावर कर दिया। परंतु दु:ख है इतिहास में कुछ खास लोगों को ही जगह मिली।
कुछ लोग त्याग, बलिदान और आजादी के लिए किए गए लंबे संघर्षों के बाद स्वतंत्र भारत में भी वह सम्मान और पहचान न पा सके जिसके वे हकदार थे।
