💇🏽‍♀️ Let’s talk about hair science: Why one size does NOT fit all! 💇🏾‍♀️I’ve noticed a lot of people—especially those who only have experience with Caucasian hair—don't realize how fundamentally different Hispanic and Black hair structures are. When stylists or friends try to apply the exact same methods across the board, it often leads to misunderstandings or, worse, severely damaged hair.Here is a quick lesson on why different textures need totally different rules:🧬 1. The Shape and StructureStraight/Fine Hair: The hair shaft is round and smooth. Natural oils from the scalp travel easily down the hair, keeping it naturally lubricated.Textured/Curly/Coily Hair: The hair shaft is oval or asymmetrical, and the cuticle is naturally more raised. Scalp oils cannot easily travel down the twists and turns, making the hair inherently much drier and more fragile.💧 2. Moisture vs. "Grease"Because fine hair gets oily quickly, heavy products can weigh it down and look slick.Textured hair craves heavy moisture and sealants. Techniques like spreading a micro-dose of oil evenly through your fingers to lock in moisture work beautifully for us, whereas it might overwhelm a different hair type. It’s not "too oily"—it's necessary hydration!🔥 3. The Danger of Salon DamageMany traditional cosmetology schools primarily teach using Caucasian hair standards. When a stylist treats textured hair with the same high heat, aggressive brushing, or stripping products meant for straight hair, it literally destroys the curl pattern and breaks the hair.The Takeaway:Just because a technique or product doesn't work for your hair type doesn't mean it's wrong—it just means it wasn't made for you! 🫶🏽 Let's celebrate our differences and remember that healthy hair looks different on everybody.

Self care is extremely important. The health of your feet are so essential because you use them all the time to walk, run, jog, jump, Etc.
