LINSTEAD - McGrath Student Dies

A 13-year-old student of McGrath High School in Linstead, St Catherine, died yesterday at Kingston Public Hospital (KPH) after complaining about a constant headache and flu-like symptoms.

Tianna Green, who previously attended Linstead Primary School, was in grade seven at McGrath.

A representative of her family told Saint Catherine Now that the child initially was taken to Linstead Public Hospital on Monday, and removed to St Ann's Bay Regional Hospital to undergo a brain scan.

After doing the scan, Green was immediately transferred to KPH to do an emergency surgery yesterday. However, she died before the surgery was done.

It is said that Green had, among other things, "blood clot in the brain". She also suffered a stroke and had started to hallucinate.
