If your skin is rough, flaky, bumpy or painfully dry, your regular body lotion might not be enough. 👀

Ynelav’s 20% Urea + 2% Salicylic Acid Body Lotion is formulated for skin that needs more than just basic hydration.

✨ 20% Urea — helps soften and loosen built-up dead skin cells while drawing moisture into the skin.
✨ 2% Salicylic Acid — provides exfoliation to help improve rough, bumpy skin.

It’s especially useful for areas prone to keratosis pilaris (KP), rough and flaky skin, cracked feet/heels, dry elbows, knees and other stubborn rough patches.

If you’re constantly moisturising but your skin still feels rough, thick or flaky, it may be time to add some exfoliation to your body-care routine. 🤎

Available from Ynelav Skincare.

Building a skincare routine for hormonal acne? Save this one. 🤎

When you’re dealing with hormonal acne and acne-prone skin, choosing products based on their active ingredients can help you build a more intentional routine.

Here are five products/ingredients to look out for:

🫧 Benzoyl peroxide cleanser — commonly used for inflammatory acne and acne-causing bacteria.
✨ Azelaic acid — useful for acne, inflammation and the dark marks that can follow breakouts.
🧴 Salicylic acid — helps exfoliate within the pores and is useful for clogged pores and excess oil.
💧 Niacinamide serum — supports the skin barrier and can help with excess sebum.
🤍 Oil-free moisturizer — because acne-prone skin still needs hydration and barrier support.

The key is not simply collecting acne-fighting actives. Your routine needs to be balanced, consistent and appropriate for your skin.

If you’ve been searching for hormonal acne products, hormonal acne skincare routine, acne treatment, skincare for acne-prone skin, products for clogged pores, oily skin or post-acne dark marks, start by understanding what each ingredient is actually doing.

4B/4C WASH DAY ROUTINE 🫧 | PART 2: DEEP CONDITIONING

We’ve detangled. We’ve shampooed. Now it’s time for the deep conditioning step. 🤎

After cleansing my 4B/4C hair, I follow up with a deep conditioner to give my hair that extra conditioning it needs after wash day. This is the part where I’m focused on moisture, softness, manageability and keeping my natural hair feeling good.

With tightly coiled hair, I find that taking my time during wash day makes such a difference — especially when it comes to detangling and conditioning.

This is Part 2 of my 4B/4C natural hair wash day routine. 🫧

Part 1: Detangling + shampooing
Part 2: Deep conditioning
Part 3: 👀 coming next

Save this for your next natural hair wash day and follow along for the rest of the routine.

4B/4C WASH DAY ROUTINE 🫧 | PART 1

Wash day starts with detangling and cleansing — especially when you have dense 4B/4C hair.

First, I saturate my hair with the Ynelav Leave-In Conditioner & Detangler Spray to help soften the hair and make detangling easier. I then work through my hair with a wide-tooth comb, taking my time rather than forcing the comb through.

Once I’m done detangling, I move on to my Ynelav Clarifying Shampoo. I shampoo twice: the first wash helps lift the buildup, oils and dirt, while the second wash gives my scalp and hair a proper cleanse. 🧴✨

This is Part 1 of my natural hair wash day routine, specifically for my 4B/4C hair. Next comes the conditioning/treatment part. 👀

If you have 4B/4C natural hair, coily hair or curly hair, save this for your next wash day. 🤎

Dealing with hormonal acne? Your skincare routine should be built around what your skin actually needs.

Hormonal acne can show up as recurring breakouts, clogged pores, inflamed pimples, excess oil and breakouts that seem to come back in the same areas — often around the chin, jawline and lower face.

The right skincare products can help manage the different factors involved in acne-prone skin. Depending on your skin and the type of breakouts you experience, ingredients such as salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide, azelaic acid, niacinamide and retinoids can each have a different role in an acne routine.

✨ Salicylic acid helps exfoliate inside the pores and can be useful for clogged pores and excess oil.
✨ Benzoyl peroxide helps reduce acne-causing C. acnes bacteria and is particularly useful for inflammatory acne.
✨ Azelaic acid can help with acne and inflammation while also addressing the dark marks that can remain after breakouts.
✨ Niacinamide can support the skin barrier and help with excess sebum and uneven-looking skin.
✨ Retinoids can help prevent clogged pores and support normal skin-cell turnover.

And remember: more actives doesn’t mean better results. 🤎

A good hormonal-acne skincare routine should focus on consistency, appropriate active ingredients, moisturising and protecting the skin barrier — rather than using every acne product at once.

If you’re struggling with hormonal acne, acne-prone skin, recurring breakouts, clogged pores, oily skin or post-acne dark marks, understanding your ingredients is a great place to start.

Save this post for your next skincare shopping trip and share it with someone trying to figure out their acne routine. ✨

If you have hormonal acne, knowing WHAT to use is only half the story — you need to know WHY. 🧬

Different acne actives work on different parts of the process:

✨ Salicylic acid → helps unclog pores
✨ Benzoyl peroxide → targets C. acnes and helps reduce inflammatory breakouts
✨ Retinoids → help prevent clogged pores and regulate cell turnover
✨ Azelaic acid → helps with acne, inflammation and post-acne pigmentation
✨ Niacinamide → supports the skin barrier and can help regulate excess oil

The goal isn’t to throw every active at your skin. It’s choosing ingredients that target what’s actually happening with your acne. 🤎

So… how does hormonal acne actually happen? 🤔

Hormonal acne is more than just “too much oil” or bacteria.

Hormonal changes can increase sebum production and influence the way dead skin cells build up inside the follicle. Once the follicle becomes clogged, C. acnes can multiply and contribute to inflammation — and that’s when you can start seeing those painful, swollen breakouts.

Understanding what’s happening beneath the skin makes acne treatment make so much more sense. 🧬✨
