Dear Nuer Community in Gambella, Ethiopia,

We have previously raised the issue of representation for the Lou Nuer in Gambella. Some may think that our posts are simply jokes or made for entertainment. No, this is a serious matter that deserves attention.

The Lou Nuer (Borchar) has long felt neglected and underrepresented in government appointments and political structures across the Gambella Region. Despite repeatedly raising concerns about the lack of representation at the regional parliament, Nuer Zone, woreda, and kebele levels, their concerns have not received the attention they deserve from the previous administrations.

We continue to ask an important question: Does the current regional leadership have the willingness and capacity to ensure that the Lou Nuer has meaningful representation in government structures?

Our post is a reminder of the importance of inclusion and equal representation. We hope yesterday we were all happy seeing Borchar women and men in the Miss Latjor women's Gathering event. But it also raised questions about why the Lou Nuer continues to lack adequate representation within the Gambella government's administrative and political structures.

We therefore call upon the wider Nuer community, intellectuals, community leaders, and concerned citizens to help raise this issue constructively and peacefully.

The Lou Nuer deserves fair and meaningful representation at all levels of government whether in the Gambella Regional Parliament, Nuer Zone, woreda, or kebele administration.
We continue to hope that this call for inclusion, fairness, and equal representation will finally be heard and addressed.
