JA Method By Dr. Jumana Antoun
A program that resolves around you!
- By Dr. Jumana Antoun
Life isn't supposed to feel like one long vacation. If every day were that camping trip, it wouldn't feel special anymore. The weekend was so meaningful because it was a moment—not my entire life.
Food is the same.
When the meal is over, let it be over. Then look forward to the next source of happiness: a walk, a workout, a conversation with someone you love, playing with your kids, planning your next trip... whatever makes your life rich.
One of the biggest shifts in the JA Method is realizing that food is part of a happy life—not the center of it.
The more sources of joy you create, the less pressure you put on food to make you happy.
1 – Protein vs calories:
10 calories or less per gram of protein. More? That's a candy bar in disguise.
2 – Protein quality:
Whey, egg, or pea+rice = complete. Collagen alone doesn't count.
3 – What's hiding in there:
Check for added sugar and hydrogenated oils.
4 – Who made it:
Local? Check MoPH registration, ask where it's made, third party testing.
The real skill isn't picking a product. It's knowing what to eat, when, and how much. That's exactly what the JA Method teaches you — how to assess your plate and decide for yourself.
Today I'm cooking with this tagine for the very first time ... and it felt very JA Method.
It reminded me that some of the best things in life can't be rushed.
A tagine needs time. The flavors deepen gradually. The aroma fills the space long before the meal is ready.
Good food takes time. Lasting habits take time. Sustainable weight loss takes time.
The goal isn't to rush the process. It's to enjoy becoming the person who no longer needs another quick fix. 🤍
If this resonates with you, the JA Method is the right place to start. Find me at jamethod.com and let's build a healthier relationship with food.
This is exactly what we work on in the JA Method (jamethod.com)— not willpower, not restriction, not "just don't eat the chocolate." We build the pause. The moment where you catch the autopilot before it eats for you.
Because once you can ask yourself one honest question in the moment, you don't need more discipline. You just need more awareness.
The JA Method isn't a plan. It's not 21 days, not a meal list, not a countdown to an event. Three things hold it together: knowing your own calories well enough that food stops feeling random. Eating with your mind actually present, not just your plate. And working with the thoughts that sabotage you at 8pm — because those aren't a willpower problem, they're a pattern problem.
If you've done the diet plans, done the yo-yo, and you're ready to become someone new — you're exactly who the JA Method was built for.

The JA Method isn't about weighing every bite.
It's about understanding the energy in food using your hands and simple spoon measurements—so you can estimate portions anywhere.
Not to stop eating. Not to label foods as "good" or "bad."
But to make informed choices with confidence, flexibility, and freedom.
That's the difference between counting calories and understanding them.
Would I recommend an organic lollipop after every run?
No.
Did I have one today?
Yes.
One choice doesn't define your health.
Just like one salad doesn't transform it.
The question isn't:
"Is a lollipop healthy?"
The better question is:
"Is this how I eat most of the time?"
Weight loss isn't built on perfect choices.
It's built on consistent ones.
If 95% of your habits support your health, the occasional lollipop isn't what stands between you and your goals.
Stop judging moments. Start looking at patterns.
People are often surprised when I tell them this:
Weight loss is rarely limited by a lack of exercise.
It's more often limited by a lack of understanding.
Understanding your hunger, habits, triggers, and why you eat when you're not physically hungry.
Exercise is valuable.
I run because it makes me feel free, strong, and alive.
But when I work with patients, I don't start with exercise.
I start by helping them understand the patterns that drive their eating.
Because once you understand the pattern, change becomes much easier.
That's the difference between trying harder and having a method.
One of the most important nutrition skills is learning to look beyond the front of the package.
When you see "high protein," ask: • What is the protein source? • Does it contain all the essential amino acids? • Will it help me meet my protein goals? • Could I get the same nutrition from real food?
This is why 20 g of collagen or gelatin protein is not the same as 20 g of turkey, chicken, fish, eggs, dairy, or soy when your goal is preserving or building muscle.
That doesn't make collagen bad. It simply has a different role and is often used to support connective tissues such as skin, tendons, and joints.
Nutrition isn't about finding the perfect food. It's about making informed choices.
Sometimes the best option isn't the one with the loudest marketing. It's the real food sitting right in front of you.
Weight loss is often not about eating less. It's about finding better solutions that fit your real life.
That's the approach I teach: not a diet plan, but helping you build meals, habits, and decisions that actually work for you.
