“ONLY IDIOTS KNEEL DOWN TO PROPOSE TO A WOMAN” — APOSTLE JOHNSON SULEMAN SAYS KNEELING IS NOT AFRICAN CULTURE
Apostle Johnson Suleman has sparked conversations with his views on marriage proposals, arguing that kneeling to propose is not part of African culture.
Speaking during a sermon, the cleric said he does not believe men should kneel while proposing to a woman, describing the practice as a foreign tradition adopted from Western culture.
“Only idiots kneel down to propose to a woman. It is not African. It’s a culture exported from the whites.”
According to him, if people choose to adopt customs from other cultures, they should also be willing to accept the consequences that may come with those cultures, including what he described as rising divorce rates.
Sharing his personal experience, Apostle Suleman said he did not kneel when he proposed to his wife.
Instead, he advised men to create a good atmosphere, sit down together, hold their partner’s hand and express their intentions without kneeling.
His remarks have since generated mixed reactions online, with some agreeing that kneeling is a cultural preference, while others see it as a respectful gesture with no bearing on the success of a marriage.
Do you agree with Apostle Johnson Suleman’s view, or do you believe kneeling to propose is simply a personal expression of love and respect?

“If You’re Paid to Play Drums in Church, You May Never Become Rich” — Pastor David Ibiyeomie Warns Instrumentalists
Pastor David Ibiyeomie has sparked conversations after sharing his perspective on serving in church and receiving payment for ministry assignments.
Speaking during a sermon, the Salvation Ministries founder questioned the practice of paying instrumentalists, particularly drummers, for serving during church services.
According to him, serving God should be motivated by a desire to honor Him rather than financial reward.
Quoting Exodus 23:25 (“You shall serve the Lord your God, and He will bless your bread and your water”), Pastor Ibiyeomie explained that God’s blessing follows service rendered unto Him.
He argued that once service becomes something done primarily for payment, a person may limit themselves to the salary they receive instead of experiencing God’s greater blessings.
“The moment they pay you, the blessing stops,” he said, adding that the blessing of the Lord is what truly brings lasting prosperity.
His remarks have generated discussions among many Christians, especially on the role of paid church workers, musicians, and instrumentalists in ministry.
What are your thoughts on Pastor David Ibiyeomie’s teaching?
