Prachtig inzicht in de struggle of life over de laatste eeuw heen!

Lieve vrienden, volgers en buitenlui,

Ik ben bezig een fotoweek voor gevorderden op te zetten en zoek hulp bij het maken van een website daarvoor. Omdat het de 1e keer gaat worden is het onzeker of er voldoende gëintresseerde deelnemers te vinden zijn.
Daarom ben ik onder andere bezig zelf een website in elkaar te sleutelen, en daar loop ik een beetje in vast. Ik zoek geen bouwer voor de volledige website, maar hulp op de punten waar ik vastloop!

Heeft iemand een tip voor een betaalbare, uurtje/factuurtje, hulpdienst?

Family of man, the longest photo exhibition ever!!
Today was my 2nd time I visited this exposition in Clervaux. Like the first time I was touched to tears by the beauty and the hardship of mankind. I realized that everyone wants the same, food shelter, family, friends, and to raise kids and grow old with those friends and family. Yet mankind never seems to be able to get and stay at this wishful continuüm of peace and prosperity, WHY? Are, we so easily manipulated, by who, by ourselves? Is selfishness our nature, or is it nurturing by society’s standards?

Veel van de albums in Genius-Loci.org zijn analoog gefotografeerd. Hiervoor werk ik met verschillende filmformaten, zowel kleinbeeld, middenformaat als 4"x5".

Portraits of staff, volunteers and homeless people who are taken care of by the Salvation Army. Like no others they daily experience the tension between economics and welfare, and experience firsthand the effects of the overestimation of their fellow man. The portraits are part of the local project “Another Brick in the Wall”, which is in total 95 portraits in volume.

Where each portrait is displayed so, that it is not visible to the viewer who is homeless, volunteer or employee. They invite you to guess and be wrong, so that the viewer is confronted with his own prejudices.

Every person is in focus, eyes attract attention. The viewer comes into direct contact with the power and beauty of the person. Not the social position, but a worthy individual is what matters.

Ultimately we are all a brick in the same wall!

Well-being is obvious not for everyone!

When I heard of a call for the Eindhoven ‘street-survival’ tour, given by local homeless people, I didn’t think twice. Being born and raised in Eindhoven I thought to know my city well. Of course in every city are homeless, but that they live and sleep so close to area’s I often visit, surprised me! That spending money vs having nothing is so close to one another really shocked me.

Homeless little Hans guided me around and we agreed I would go back to photograph there ‘homes’. I didn’t want to picture the homeless themselves, but keep the work anonymous.

Being ironic I named this serie ‘Hotel Eindhoven’ and made a postcard from every photo ‘greetings from ………..’ as if they stayed in a beautiful hotel.

Triggered by all the posts about the earthquakes and other effects of the gas extraction in Groningen, I went there myself. I questioned myself how it is to live in an area with earthquakes.

Your house is slowly being demolished, has to be supported by beams to prevent a collapse. A lady told me that her home has become her prison, one that can collapse any moment.
A series of absurd, but in Groningen usual, situations.

During my journeys through the country I often saw houses behind dike’s, walls and hedges. At one time I thought that I should make a series of photo’s. I see this everywhere and keep broadening this serie
