May the 4th Be With You 💫

As I near the end of my Masters and dive into a new certification in archetypes and depth psychology, I've been thinking about story.

This month's newsletter explores two very different kinds of journey: Joseph Campbell's Hero's Journey and Maureen Murdock's Heroine's Journey. And what Rey from Star Wars has to do with all of it.

There's also details of what's coming up this spring and summer, including a Summer Solstice Retreat, a new nature walk in community, and a compassion-based course launching in autumn.

If you've been feeling the pull between doing and being, between the outer journey and the inner one, this one might be for you.

Earth Day — connecting with what matters 🌍

Tomorrow morning (Wednesday 22 April) I’m offering a special Earth Day Midweek Meditation.

🍃 A simple pause
🍃 A chance to breathe
🍃 To reconnect with the living world we are part of

Earth Day invites action. And it matters…

🚮 Community clean-ups
🌳 Tree planting
📢 Local organising
💬 Conversations that shift awareness

And… what if we begin by listening?

When we take time to be still, something clarifies.

Action becomes less about what we should do, and more about what we feel genuinely called towards.

Reflective space is not separate from action. It helps action become more aligned and sustainable.

You’re very welcome to join us:

Wednesday 22 April
8:30–9:00 CET (Zoom)

https://www.realisemindfulness.com/event-details/midweek-meditation-free-practice

I’d love to hear…
What are you feeling called to do this Earth Day?

🕯️ At the Threshold: February Traditions and the Return of Light

Do you ever notice how quickly the seasons seem to turn?

February always brings a bittersweet awareness for me. I watch younger families carrying lanterns and gathering around bonfires here in Luxembourg, and remember how excited my own children once were to take part. Now they approach these traditions with the gentle nonchalance of young adults, and I find myself standing slightly further back, watching the wheel turn.

Over the past weeks I’ve been reflecting on Candlemas, Imbolc and Buergbrennen, the festivals that quietly mark this threshold between winter and spring. They remind us that even when the ground still feels cold, light is returning. Something is preparing to grow.

If you’re feeling the pace of life quicken, this might be a moment to pause. In this month’s newsletter I’m sharing seasonal retreats, mindfulness and compassion courses, and simple ways to stay grounded as the year unfolds.

Step into this threshold time with intention, and notice what might be quietly taking root in you.

Midweek Meditation | Realise Mindfulness 13/01/2026

❄️ Midweek Meditation — a steady rhythm for mid-January ❄️
Mid-January can be a tender point in the year. The festive energy has faded, the days are still dark, and cold, wet weather can take its toll on mood, energy, and motivation. This is often when intentional pauses, supportive rhythms and community matter most.

To offer a gentle anchor during this period, I’m hosting a free Midweek Meditation every Wednesday morning throughout January.

We meet live on Zoom from 8:30–9:00 CET for 30 minutes of guided mindfulness and quiet reflection in a warm, welcoming space. Practising together, even briefly, can help cultivate steadiness, presence, and a sense of connection through the winter weeks.

Research shows that regularity and practising with others are key to sustaining mindfulness over time. A simple weekly rhythm can help build momentum and allow practice to gently take root 🌱
If you’d like to join, you’re very welcome.

As the year turns, I’ve been spending time with what it means to stand at a threshold — noticing both the quiet beauty of winter and the mixed emotions that often accompany endings and new beginnings.

My January newsletter weaves together reflections on coexistence and collaboration (inspired by lichen in the forest), thoughts on the Year of the Fire Horse 🐎🔥(inspired by my teacher and comapnion, Helios) and the art of channelling vitality without burning out. Theses are lessons I continue to learn from nature and my animal companions.

It also includes gentle invitations for practice and support this season:

❄️A return to weekly Midweek Meditation throughout January

❄️Reflections on integrated, nature-based mindfulness coaching

❄️A book recommendation exploring enchantment, wonder, and meaning-making in anxious times

If you’re beginning the year with curiosity rather than certainty, and are interested in ways of meeting change with presence, care, and steadiness, you’re very welcome to read more here:

Wishing you a beginning that is guided rather than rushed, and a vitality rooted in connection.

06/01/2026

I found myself hesitating to write a New Year post this year.

The world feels tender and unsettled. Global politics, the climate crisis, and closer to home, people I care about are grieving unexpected loss.

In moments like these, “Happy New Year” can feel thin, even incongruous.
What brings me back to this work, again and again, is a simple intention: to witness suffering and, where possible, to ease it.

Mindfulness does not ask us to bypass what is difficult. It invites us to turn towards experience with care, honesty, and steadiness. To stay present when things are complex. To remember our shared humanity. And to keep tending the threads of connection — with ourselves, with one another, and with the living world that holds us.

I have learned, both personally and through research, that practising together matters. Group practice, especially when guided by a well-qualified teacher, supports continuity, deepens learning, and helps us stay with the practice when life is painful or demanding.

Studies from Brown University and others suggest that collective practice can strengthen commitment and amplify the individual and social benefits of mindfulness.

With this in mind, I am offering a free weekly Midweek Meditation throughout January, every Wednesday at 8:30–9:00 CET, live on Zoom
🍃A gentle pause.
🍃A place to land midweek.
🍃A shared practice of attention and care.

If you are longing for steadiness rather than resolutions, for presence rather than performance, for nature-infused mindfulness in community, you would be very welcome. No fixing required. Just arriving as you are, and practising together.

As the year draws to a close, I want to pause and say thank you.
Thank you to everyone who has read, reflected with, shared, or quietly accompanied these posts over the year. Your presence and engagement have genuinely mattered.

I’m sharing this short video of snow falling as a gentle invitation.
If you wish, you might take a moment to watch it mindfully. Some intentional moments of being and relating to the natural world:
❄️ Letting your gaze soften
❄️ Noticing the steady, unhurried descent of snow meeting Earth
❄️Perhaps taking a few slower breaths and allowing your body to settle, even briefly, like a light dusting of snow settling

You might also reflect on this simple question:

How do I want to connect with nature, with the Earth itself, and with those I love over the festive period, in ways that feel nourishing and authentic?

I’m mindful too that for many people this season can be complex or tender. Loss, loneliness, or exhaustion may sit alongside celebration. As we approach the winter solstice, we reach the shortest day. A threshold moment, where darkness is fully honoured and light begins, slowly, to return.

May we meet this time with kindness. Kindness towards ourselves, towards one another, and towards the living Earth that sustains us. May there be space for rest, simplicity, and for being exactly as we are.

If you feel drawn, you’re welcome to share how you’re connecting with nature or with what matters most to you at this time of year.

Wishing you moments of stillness, warmth, and belonging, whatever this season holds for you.

10/12/2025

As I prepare for Christmas, I’ve been reflecting on gratitude, generosity, and the path that continues to guide my work. My December newsletter opens with a personal reflection on how nature, mindfulness and compassion shape my calling as a coach — especially the question at the heart of my work:

💚 How can we cultivate a reciprocity of personal and planetary wellbeing?

Nature-based practice continues to nourish me — and those I work with — offering lessons in resilience, presence, and the quiet courage of growth through adversity. I explore this more deeply, alongside the responsibilities this caring gives rise to, in my new blog (linked in the newsletter).

This month’s newsletter also includes a few seasonal gifts:

🌿 A complimentary Winter Practice Companion with three short, accessible practices to nurture presence, connection and wellbeing
🌿 A voucher for my refreshed mindful and nature-based integrative coaching offerings
🌿 Free Midweek Meditations every Wednesday in January — supporting New Year intention, steadiness and community
🌿 A glimpse of my simplified new website and offers

If you’re seeking a grounded, nourishing way to close the year — or to begin the next with clarity and care — I hope these resources meet you well.

🍂Walking with What Is

Helios has been teaching me the quiet pleasure of walking in the rain. 🌿

Instead of waiting for the sun, he turns his face to the weather — a living reminder of what mindfulness invites us into: meeting life just as it is, with openness and grace.

Sometimes, joy isn’t found in perfect conditions — it’s in the rhythm of rain, the smell of wet earth, the steady steps that remind us we belong.
