South Korean scientist YoungHoon Kim, renowned for his record-high IQ of 276 recognized by Guinness World Records, has gained international attention after publicly expressing his Christian faith on social media. On June 17, 2025, Kim posted on X: "As the world's highest IQ record holder, I believe that Jesus Christ is God, the way, the truth, and the life," which quickly went viral with 14 million views and over 250,000 likes by June 19. With credentials from organizations like Guinness, Giga Society, and Mensa, Kim, 36, holds a bachelor's degree in Christian Theology from Yonsei University, which he regards as one of his best educational experiences and calls theology "the ultimate discipline." He expressed his intent to influence others toward faith, stating, "I will use this opportunity to lead many souls to God," and declared, "Christ is my logic." His faith aligns with Catholic teachings that God's existence can be reasoned, as outlined in the Catechism and Vatican I. Earlier this year, Kim affirmed his belief in God's existence and suggested human consciousness might extend beyond brain function, potentially involving quantum information. He is also the founder and CEO of Neuro Story, an AI-driven brain health initiative supported by the South Korean government, and leads organizations such as the United Sigma Intelligence Association and the Lifeboat Foundation, which focus on safe scientific progress and risk mitigation in emerging technologies like AI.
