PCOS now has a new name: PMOS - Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome.
The change reflects that this condition truly is more than just ovarian cysts.
PMOS highlights the deeper metabolic and hormonal imbalances linked to:
- insulin resistance
- irregular cycles
- weight changes
- acne & excess hair growth
- fertility challenges
- inflammation
- mental health struggles
Because this isn’t just a reproductive issue, it’s a whole-body condition that affects millions of women daily.
The new name shifts the conversation from symptoms alone to the root causes behind them, helping create better awareness, diagnosis and treatment.
And importantly, many women diagnosed with “PCOS” never even had ovarian cysts to begin with.
This name change is about understanding the condition more accurately and treating women more holistically.
PMOS is more than a new name. It’s a new perspective.

A lot of people still think bariatric surgery is something you have to travel abroad for.
But the truth is, safe, effective bariatric surgery is available right here in Nigeria.
And one of the biggest advantages of having your surgery done locally is something people don’t talk about enough: support. Because bariatric surgery is not just about the operation itself, it’s the journey after surgery that truly matters.
After surgery, real life still happens:
You’ll have questions, you need help adjusting to new eating habits, routine follow-ups, encouragement on difficult days, and you’ll need a team that can actually walk the journey with you.
That’s much easier when your doctors, dietitians, and support team are close by, not in another country.
Choosing to have surgery in Nigeria can also mean:
- Less financial stress from flights, hotels, visas, and medical tourism costs
- Easier access to follow-up appointments and emergency care if needed
- Recovering close to family and loved ones
- Building long-term relationships with your healthcare team
- Getting quality care without leaving home
- Avoiding death risks from long flights
You deserve access to good healthcare. You deserve support. And you deserve the chance to become healthier, right here at home.

Childhood obesity is one of the fastest-growing health challenges worldwide, and it’s affecting more than just physical appearance.
Children are now developing “adult” health conditions like Type 2 Diabetes, hypertension, and other obesity-related complications at very young ages.
Treatment usually starts with conservative approaches such as healthy dieting, lifestyle modification, limited screen time, increased physical activity and family support. These remain the foundation of childhood weight management.
Weight loss injections may be considered only in older patients under specialist care, while surgery is usually the last option, mainly for children with severe obesity-related complications. Balloon procedures also depend on the child’s individual presentation and medical assessment.
Early intervention, healthy habits, and proper medical guidance can make a huge difference in a child’s future health.

You know that kind of fat you can grab with your hands? The one that sits just under your skin? That’s subcutaneous fat and while many of us stress over it, it’s actually not the biggest threat to your health.
The real concern is the fat you can’t see.
Visceral fat hides deep inside your abdomen, wrapped around your organs your liver, intestines, even your heart. You won’t always notice it in the mirror, but it can quietly increase your risk of serious issues like insulin resistance, heart disease and inflammation.
That’s why someone can “look fine” on the outside and still struggle internally.
This isn’t about fear, it’s about awareness. Because focusing only on appearance can make us miss what truly matters, like what’s happening inside the body.
So instead of chasing a flatter stomach just for looks, shift your focus to habits that actually support your health:
• Moving your body consistently
• Prioritizing sleep
• Managing stress
• Eating in a way that supports your energy and hormones.
Your body is more than what you see in the mirror. Take care of the parts you can’t see too.
For our recent health walk, we made it a point to ensure that every one of our patients are also included, and this beautiful story is a testament to that commitment.
During the walk, one of our amazing them graciously agreed to share her journey with us, and we couldn’t be more grateful. Her transformation is nothing short of remarkable.
She had the gastric sleeve surgery with an initial weight of 118kg. Fast forward just 4 months later, and she is now at 84kg that’s an incredible 34kg weight loss!
Beyond the numbers, her story reflects courage, discipline and a commitment to reclaiming her health.
To anyone out there considering taking that first step, let this be your sign. Progress is possible and you don’t have to walk the journey alone.
We are proud of you. We celebrate you. And we’re with you every step of the way.
3years ago, Mrs I. made a life-changing decision to undergo gastric sleeve surgery with us. It was the beginning of a new lifestyle, new habits and a completely new relationship with her body.
Fast forward to today, she’s 32kg lighter but more importantly, she’s stronger, healthier and more confident.
Massive weight loss often comes with its own challenges, and for her, that included excess skin. After putting in the work to lose the weight, she’s now taking the next step in her journey, which is body contouring.
This stage isn’t about perfection, it’s about feeling comfortable in your own skin after everything your body has been through.
Every phase of this journey matters, the decision, commitment, transformation and now, the refinement.
We’re honored to be part of her story then and now.
If you’ve been considering taking that first step, or you’re already on your journey and wondering what comes next, this is your reminder. Progress doesn’t stop at weight loss. It evolves.

Excess skin after significant weight loss isn’t talked about enough, but it’s a very real part of many transformation journeys.
When the body holds extra weight for a long time, the skin stretches. After weight loss, especially rapid or major loss, it may not fully snap back. That’s not failure, it’s biology.
Factors like age, genetics, duration and amount of weight lost all play a role. For some it’s minimal, for others it’s more noticeable and even uncomfortable.
There’s also an emotional side, you can be proud of your progress and still struggle with how your body feels. Both are valid.
Strength training, good nutrition, hydration and time can help, but may not fully remove excess skin. And if it becomes too uncomfortable, body contouring is always an option.
Your body reflects your journey, growth, and discipline. Nothing to be ashamed of.

One of the most powerful weight loss tools you’re probably overlooking is walking.
Here’s why it works:
Walking keeps you in a fat-burning zone without overstressing your body. Unlike intense workouts that spike hunger and fatigue, walking is sustainable. You can do it daily, even multiple times a day, without burnout.
It also quietly increases your daily calorie burn (your NEAT: non-exercise activity). This is where real transformation happens. Those extra steps add up more than you think.
Walking also helps regulate your appetite, clear your mind, reduce stress and improve consistency, which is the real “hack” behind any successful weight loss journey.
You don’t need to start with 10,000 steps.
Start with more than you’re doing now.
• Listen to music while walking
• Add a 10-15 min walk after meals
• Choose stairs over elevators
• Park a little farther away
It’s simple, repeatable and effective.
The best weight loss strategy is the one you can stick to, and walking makes that a whole lot easier.
