If you’re over 90kg, a tummy tuck or liposuction is usually not the best place to start.
We know that’s not what most people want to hear, but here’s why.
A tummy tuck isn’t a weight-loss surgery. It’s designed to remove excess skin and improve body contour after significant weight loss, not treat obesity.
If you’re still carrying a lot of excess weight, even the best cosmetic surgery may not give you the dramatic transformation you’re hoping for. The underlying issue is still there.
For many people, the better first step is to lose the weight through lifestyle changes, doctor-supervised medications, a gastric balloon, or bariatric surgery.
Once you’ve reached a healthier, more stable weight, cosmetic procedures like a tummy tuck can deliver much better, longer-lasting results.
Think of it like building a house. You don’t paint the walls before laying a solid foundation. The goal isn’t just to have surgery, it’s to have the right surgery at the right time.

One of the biggest surprises during a weight loss journey is that fertility can improve.
Many women assume that if they’ve struggled to conceive in the past, they don’t need to think about contraception during weight loss treatment. But as weight comes down, hormone balance and ovulation may improve, making pregnancy more likely for some women.
That’s why we discuss contraception with patients before they begin treatment, especially when you’re not ready for a child, whether it’s a gastric balloon, bariatric surgery, or another medically supervised weight loss option.
This doesn’t mean you can’t have children after treatment. Quite the opposite. For many women, reaching a healthier weight can improve fertility and support a healthier pregnancy.
The goal is simply to make sure pregnancy happens when your body is ready.
Mrs. Sandra had gastric sleeve surgery in November 2025.
Fast forward just 7 months, and she’s gone from 118kg to 80kg, a remarkable 38kg weight loss! 👏🏽
Beyond the numbers on the scale, she’s gained something even more valuable: improved health, greater confidence and a lifestyle she can sustain.
Her journey is a reminder that gastric sleeve surgery isn’t a shortcut, it’s a tool. The best results come from combining surgery with healthy eating, regular physical activity, and staying committed to the process.
Congratulations to her on how far she’s come and we’re happy to be part of her progress.

Not everything you’ve heard about weight loss is true.
Many of the weight loss tips we hear every day are myths, not facts.
The problem is that believing these myths can make weight loss more frustrating than it needs to be. You may spend months following advice that simply doesn’t work while missing out on strategies that actually do.
Sustainable weight loss isn’t about quick fixes, detox teas, or starving yourself. It’s about understanding how your body works, building healthy habits you can maintain, and getting the right support when you need it.
This post is to separate facts from fiction and help you make informed decisions about your health.
Which of these myths have you heard before? And what’s the biggest weight loss myth you’ve ever been told?

Have you ever felt like you’ve been trying to lose weight forever, yet nothing seems to change?
The truth is, successful weight loss isn’t just about food or exercise. Sometimes, it’s the habits, mindsets and patterns we fall into that keep us stuck.
This post highlights 8 common behaviors that can make weight loss much harder, not to judge anyone, but to help you recognize what might be holding you back.
You might see yourself in one of them. You might even see yourself in several. And that’s okay. Awareness is the first step toward change.
The good news is none of these behaviors define you. They can all be changed with the right support, realistic expectations and a plan you can actually stick to.
If you’ve been struggling to lose weight on your own, you don’t have to keep doing it alone. Send us a DM to book a consultation.
When most people think about weight loss, they think about looking different. But sometimes, it’s about healing.
Roseline Keitha suffered a hip fracture following an accident and underwent surgery. As she recovered, her healing wasn’t progressing as expected. Her doctor explained that she had two options: undergo a hip replacement or lose weight to reduce the strain on her hip and improve her recovery.
She chose weight loss and was referred to us.
During her assessment, we also discovered that she had fatty liver disease, another condition that can often improve with significant weight loss.
Stories like Roseline’s remind us that weight loss is about so much more than appearance. It can improve mobility, reduce pressure on painful joints, support recovery after surgery, improve fertility in some patients, and even help reverse obesity-related conditions like fatty liver disease and hypertension.
That’s why we say obesity isn’t just about excess weight, it affects the entire body. And when it’s treated appropriately, the benefits can extend far beyond the number on the scale.
If you’ve been advised to lose weight because of a medical condition, or you’re living with obesity and wondering what your options are, send us a DM to book a consultation. Together, we’ll help you find the weight loss approach that’s right for you.
Many people don’t realize that obesity can affect fertility. For some women, excess weight can interfere with ovulation, hormone balance and the chances of conceiving naturally.
It can also reduce the success rates of fertility treatments like IVF and increase the risk of pregnancy-related complications.
That’s why, in some cases, women with BMI of above 40kg/m2 are advised to lose weight before proceeding with IVF. The goal isn’t to delay their dream of having a baby, it’s to improve the chances of a healthier pregnancy and a better outcome.
For some patients, significant weight loss has been associated with improved fertility, and some even go on to conceive naturally before needing IVF. While this doesn’t happen for everyone, it’s one of the many reasons weight management can be an important part of fertility care.
Rafiatu’s story is just beginning, and we’re honored to be part of her journey.
If you’re living with obesity and wondering how it may be affecting your fertility or overall health, the first step is a consultation.
Send us a DM to book an appointment and let’s explore the weight loss option that’s right for you.
The carnivore diet has become one of the most talked-about approaches to weight loss.
“No carbs. No fruits. No vegetables. Just meat.”
And for some people, it has led to significant weight loss.
For many people, eating this way naturally reduces how much they eat. Protein is filling, cravings may decrease, and it becomes harder to mindlessly snack throughout the day.
But before you throw away all your plant foods, remember that, just because something works for one person doesn’t mean it’s the right fit for everyone.
The real challenge isn’t losing weight for a few weeks or months. It’s finding an approach you can stick with while still meeting your nutritional needs and enjoying your life.

Life-changing results rarely come from extreme diets, detoxes, or a sudden burst of motivation. More often, they come from simple habits repeated consistently.
Imagine where you could be 90 days from now if you:
- Walked regularly
- Prioritized protein
- Stopped eating after 7pm
- Got to bed by 10pm
- Took a break from alcohol
None of these habits are flashy. None promise overnight results. But together, they can improve your energy levels, sleep quality, relationship with food and support sustainable weight loss.
The next 90 days are going to pass anyway. The question is, where do you want to be when October arrives?
Save this post and challenge yourself to adopt even one of these habits today.
