Something happened yesterday that reminded me why consistency in business is not optional… it’s survival.

Two lessons stood out clearly:

1. Always show up for your business. And when you can’t, put a structure in place.
2. Advertisement is the backbone of every business.

So here’s the story…

A lady called me yesterday saying she was on her way to my shop. I gave her directions, but when I checked her number, we had never spoken before.

When she arrived, I asked how she found The Ruthie’s Brand.

Her story shocked me.

She came to Kubwa for something personal and planned to buy perfumes from her regular vendor but didn’t inform the vendor ahead. Unfortunately, the vendor had traveled.

On top of that, she had just been scammed and lost her phone. She showed up with a torchlight phone.

Now stranded and still determined to get perfumes, she started begging strangers to use their phones so she could search for vendors nearby. The first person refused… but thankfully, someone else helped.

The moment she searched, my name came up.

She called me immediately.

That moment hit me hard.

People are searching every single day.
Your next customer might be one search away.
But if you’re not visible, you don’t exist to them.

I may not post all the time because offline business can be overwhelming… but this reminded me:

Consistency is not about convenience, it’s about positioning.

Funny enough, I hadn’t posted on TikTok since last year but just this Wednesday, I made my first sale from there.

Let that sink in.

The moral of the story?
Show up for your business even when it feels like no one is watching. Someone is searching.
