As there's no evidence to suggest that taking collagen by mouth actually benefits in any way in terms of improving skin collagen production.

It depends on why you're taking collagen supplement. I don't think it helps wrinkles: The collagen you ingest is broken down into individual amino acids, and there's no way they will automatically regroup to form collagen and smooth out wrinkles....

Ingesting collagen supplements does absolutely nothing to collagen stores in your body. The stomach acid and digestive tract break collagen down into amino acids, which are the building blocks of all proteins.

This is a common misconception (that I myself once believed) but emerging research has shown that may not be true .

Cleansing Oils are specifically formulated with emulsifiers to rinse away from the skin properly.

I wouldn’t use oils from the kitchen or coconut oil as they will be hard to remove and can sit on the skin even after a second cleanse.

Oil Cleansing is using oil to dissolve oil.
Like dissolves like remember?

Only oils can thoroughly melt your sebum, sunscreen, makeup and any oil based skincare.

In order to properly cleanse your face you have to use an oil, balm or cleansing milk.

It is not even healthy for your skin not to use a moisturizer formulated with oil as it helps maintaining moisture in your skin and prevents Trans-Epidermal Water Loss.

Oils are your friends, just make sure it's a non-comedogenic one.

Note: Essential Oils are not oils.

Oil Cleansers usually contain an emulsifier to help it break down.

You will have better results using dedicated cleansing oils or oil balms.

The Asian cleansing oils and balms are excellent and are not expensive as most require only a very small amount.

They are formulated to emulsify when water is added and to rinse off easily. It takes much more effort, rubbing, and a stronger cleanser to remove a straight oil that will not emulsify.

I use the DHC oil cleanser, it goes on like an oil and when you add water it turns into a milky consistency.

Cleansing oils were really popularized by Korean and Japanese brands, they’ve been doing a double cleanse for years and years.

Vitamin C is a water-soluble vitamin and essential for human health. Because we’re unable to synthesize it in our own bodies, it must be consumed through diet.

But hold on, read further...

While consuming it through diet is important, ORAL VITAMIN C DOESN’T NECESSARILY HAVE THE SAME IMPACT ON SKIN COMPARED TO TOPICAL Applications.

Applied topically, Vitamin C can increase its level in the skin directly and you are not limited to cases where levels are low.
However, only the active form of Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) is well Studied.

Oxidative stress, caused by exposure to environmental factors like UV radiation, can deplete Vitamin C and other endogenous antioxidants.

Interestingly, Vitamin C levels have also been found to be lower in skin that is aged or photodamaged.

In addition to its antioxidant ability, Vitamin C can help with brightening and may aid in collagen synthesis in the skin.

While getting your Vitamin C serum, look for the following :
- 15-20% Ascorbic Acid

- pH under 3.5 but 2-3 is even better.
A lower pH is also associated with better antioxidant ability.

- additional antioxidants like ferulic acid and Vit E to stabilize the L-AA and enhance photoprotection.

- ideally light and air tight packaging

𝘛𝘪𝘱: Vitamin C derivatives can be considered for sensitive skin types and others who can’t use or tolerate ascorbic acid.
