But God: When Heaven Interrupts the Story”

Some of my favourite scriptures are the “But God” verses found throughout the Bible.
Two simple words—yet some of the most powerful in all of God’s Word.

“But God” brings hope when we can’t see a way through.
“But God” reminds us that ashes are not the end of our story.
“But God” declares that God—not our circumstances—always has the final say.

When we’re faced with overwhelming situations—parenting struggles, razor-thin finances, painful losses, or a frightening diagnosis—we often see no way out. We feel helpless, unsure of what to do next or how the story could possibly change.

But God.

God doesn’t just redeem us for Himself—He redeems our stories for His glory.
He is a Redeemer, and He redeems everything we place in His hands. What the enemy intends for evil—to steal, kill, and destroy our faith, families, friendships, and hope—God turns around for good.

Scripture reminds us in Acts 7:9–10:

“Because the patriarchs were jealous of Joseph, they sold him as a slave into Egypt. But God was with him and rescued him from all his troubles.”

Joseph’s life was a series of unfair turns:
thrown into a pit, sold as a slave, taken from everything familiar, separated from family for decades, falsely accused, wrongly imprisoned, and forgotten despite his integrity and diligence.

Yet Joseph could confidently declare:

“You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good, to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.”

✨WHY I ALWAYS ASK “THE WHY?”✨ One thing I’ve noticed about myself over the years is this funny little superpower I have — I naturally see things from a different point of view 😂. Some people call it understanding, others say it’s too deep, but me I’m just here minding my business and asking “But… why did they do it like that?” 😅 You can come and report someone to me with full confidence, expecting me to carry placard and support you immediately. And most times, yes — you may be right! The person may deserve premium reprimanding. But once I start looking for the “why”, the outcome usually takes another direction entirely 🤣. Honestly ehn, this thing can be draining because somehow I always end up on the “opposing side” of the argument — not to defend bad behavior oh — but to help people understand the intention behind the action. And over time, I’ve learnt that a good intention can sometimes produce a bad outcome, and it’s important to separate the two. At the end of the day, if the intention is good, maybe the person is not as terrible as we think 🤷‍♀️. What do you think? The Beautiful, Uncomfortable Art of Evolving ✨

To evolve means to unfold, to open, to expand — according to the American Dictionary of the English Language.
And honestly? That definition has been sitting with me lately.

Because recently, I’ve been feeling this unexplainable mix of tiredness, restlessness, and dissatisfaction — spiritually, emotionally, financially, and even career-wise.
It’s like something inside me keeps whispering,
“This can’t be all there is… there is MORE.”

And I know there is more.
I see it in the lives of others.
I sense it in my spirit.
But the question is… why am I not walking in it yet?

Then it hit me — evolution is uncomfortable.
Sometimes it looks like saying NO more than you’ve ever said before:
No to the norms.
No to excuses.
No to procrastination.
No to complacency.
No to anything that tries to shrink the version of you God is trying to grow.

Daniel 1:8 says,
“But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself…”
That’s evolution — a heart decision, a line drawn, a refusal to stay small.

Because before you evolve, you must first be tired.
Tired enough to change.
Tired enough to choose growth.
Tired enough to say, “This time, I’m not staying here.”

So my love, let me ask you…
Are you tired enough to move now?
Or tired, but still able to tolerate ‘one more day’?
The choice is always yours.
