Why Do We Feel Guilty for Resting?

Why do we feel bad when we’re doing nothing?

Why do we only feel ‘worthy’ when we’re being productive, helpful, or busy?

Rest isn’t laziness.
Rest is rebellion in a world that glorifies burnout.

You deserve to rest.
Without guilt. Without apology. Without explaining.

So today, if all you do is breathe and exist…
That’s enough.

Are you someone who struggles to rest without feeling guilty? Let’s talk.

Are you a people pleaser?

“You’re Not Here to Be a People Pleaser.”

From the time we were little girls, many of us were trained to be nice…
Not honest.
Not strong.
Not bold.
Just nice.

We were taught:
_ Don’t make people uncomfortable
– Don’t say no
– Don’t take up too much space
– Be agreeable, be polite, be easy to love

And just like that…
A people pleaser is born.

Someone who apologises even when she’s not wrong.
Someone who says "yes" with her mouth and "no" with her soul.
Someone who thinks love must be earned by overgiving, overextending, and overperforming.

But sis… you’re not here to please people—you’re here to live fully.

HOW TO UNTRAIN A PEOPLE PLEASER

1. Say “No” Without Explaining You don’t owe anyone an excuse.
“No” is a full sentence.

2. Disappoint Others to Honour Yourself Not everyone will be happy with your boundaries. That’s okay.
Discomfort isn’t disrespect.

3. Stop Apologising for Existing Take up space. Be seen. Be heard.
You are not “too much”—they just weren’t ready.

4. Feel the Guilt & Set the Boundary Anyway Guilt doesn’t mean you’re wrong.
It means you’re healing the people-pleasing wound.

5. Choose Self-Respect Over Approval Their opinion isn’t your oxygen.
Let go of needing to be liked by everyone.

Healing from people-pleasing is uncomfortable.
But losing yourself to keep the peace? That’s a war not worth fighting.

Who needed to hear this today?
Tag her. Save this. Say it with me:
“I am not a people pleaser. I am a self-honourer.”

After I posted about the arthritis medication I bought from China, a friend of mine asked me to help her find and buy spearmint tea. She had searched all over the country but couldn't find any. As someone who likes to share helpful information, I went online and researched the benefits of this tea. To my surprise, I discovered that spearmint tea can work wonders, especially for women dealing with hormonal imbalance. It has many other benefits as well, which I will be posting about more in the future.
Some of the proven benefits includes
1. Good for Digestive Upsets
2. High in Antioxidants
3. May Aid Women With Hormone Imbalances
4. May Reduce Facial Hair in Women
5. May Improve Memory
6. Fights Bacterial Infections
7. May Lower Blood Sugar
8. May Help Reduce Stress
9. May Improve Arthritis Pain
10. May Help Lower Blood Pressure
11. Easy to Incorporate Into Your Diet

Welcome to the month of May. This month shall favour us more than we expected. God will restore the days the cankerworms have eaten. Everything you put your hand in will be perceived of grace. Grace will speak for you where your power can't speak. If you believe say Amen.
Say this prayer wholeheartedly by placing your right hand on your chest then place your hand in the air and proclaim the prayer imagining whatever you want God to do for you. After this, rejoice because God has answered your prayers 🛐.

Did you know that there is a scientific link between depression and changes in body odor?

Studies have shown that individuals with depression may have different chemical compositions in their sweat compared to those without the condition. This can lead to a stronger, more unpleasant body odor.

One study published in the journal "Chemosensory Perception" found that individuals with major depressive disorder had a distinct odor that was detectable by others. The researchers suggested that this could be due to changes in the levels of certain chemicals, such as volatile organic compounds, that are present in sweat.

Another study conducted at the University of Oxford found that people with higher levels of the stress hormone cortisol, which is often elevated in individuals with depression, had a more unpleasant body odor. This suggests that there may be a physiological basis for the link between depression and body odor.

These findings highlight the complex relationship between our mental and physical health. It's important to recognize that depression is a serious condition that can impact various aspects of our well-being, including our body odor. If you or someone you know is struggling with depression, it's crucial to seek help and support from a healthcare professional.

Remember, it's okay to reach out for help. You are not alone in your journey towards better mental health. Let's continue to raise awareness about the importance of mental health and destigmatize conversations around depression.
