Learn to sacrifice. Learn to look beyond today's irritation and remembering the person you promised to grow old with. Old age is coming! it will eventually come! The children will eventually become adults.The house may become quieter. Careers will end.

Responsibilities will change. Your physical strength will reduce. The beautiful body you admired may become wrinkled. The person beside you may need more help walking, hearing, remembering or simply getting through the day. And when that season comes, you won't be asking, “Who had the better argument twenty years ago?”

Obviously, you will want someone who knows your history. Someone who remembers the struggles you survived together.

Someone who knows the younger version of you and still loves the older version standing before them.
Someone who can hold your hand and say: “We've come this far together.”

That kind of marriage doesn't happen accidentally. It is built deliberately. It is built every time you choose kindness over contempt. It is built knowing that 'MARRIAGE IS NOT ABOUT TODAY', but about everyday, and the future, especially old age.
