Lessons Taught by Life
Obsessive Love Ignores Danger Signs

There is a dangerous kind of love that does not see clearly. It does not listen. It does not pause. It rushes like a river in flood, carrying away reason, dignity, and sometimes even life itself. Obsessive love is not built on understanding, it is built on fear of losing, fear of being alone, and the desperate need to possess.

When love becomes obsession, warning signs appear like road signs before a sharp curve: jealousy disguised as protection, control disguised as care, isolation disguised as loyalty. Yet the obsessed heart ignores them all.

Life teaches us that real love does not suffocate; it breathes. It does not cage; it frees. When someone constantly checks your phone, isolates you from friends, reacts violently to small misunderstandings, or makes you feel guilty for having a life outside them, those are not signs of passion. They are signals of insecurity and control.

Obsession blinds a person to disrespect. It convinces them that pain is proof of depth. But pain is not passion. Fear is not affection. Possession is not protection.

Many tragedies we read about began with ignored signs. The controlling messages. The explosive temper. The “I can’t live without you” statements that sound romantic but hide emotional instability. The truth is simple: love that threatens your peace is not love, it is danger wearing perfume.

The greatest lesson life teaches is this: Love should add light, not cast shadows. It should strengthen your identity, not erase it. When you find yourself constantly anxious, afraid to speak, or walking on eggshells, pause. Reflect. Seek counsel. Love is meant to grow you, not shrink you.

If love demands your silence, it is control.
If love isolates you, it is insecurity.
If love threatens you, it is danger.
If love costs you your peace, it is too expensive.

Never confuse intensity with sincerity. The loudest love is not always the deepest. True love is calm, respectful, 💓

A man was flying home to meet his fiancée's parents for the first time. Before his flight, he stopped at a café, preferring its lively hum over the sterile airport waiting area. While sipping his coffee, a disheveled man walked in and hesitantly asked patrons for a drink. His worn clothes and tired eyes told a story of hardship.

When the man approached him, he asked what he wanted. The disheveled man sheepishly requested Jamaican Blue Mountain, the priciest option on the menu. When asked why, he explained it was his birthday, and he had always wanted to try it. Something about his honesty struck the man, so he decided to buy him the coffee and a slice of cake. They sat together as the man shared a heartbreaking story of loss, betrayal, and bad luck. Before he left, he gave the disheveled man $100, wished him well, and hurried to the airport.

Hours later, as he settled into his first-class seat, his heart nearly stopped. The same man sat down next to him. But this time, he wasn’t disheveled. He wore a tailored suit, and a polished watch gleamed on his wrist. Confused, the man stammered, “What’s going on here?”

The man smiled and introduced himself as a successful entrepreneur. He explained that he had been testing people’s reactions when appearing in his lowest state. The kindness the man had shown him left a lasting impression. He thanked the man for his generosity, explaining that it reminded him of the importance of kindness, no matter one's status.

The man was in awe, realizing that true success isn’t about wealth or material things, but how we treat others. The impact of a single act of kindness can resonate far beyond what we can see. *Moral of the story:* In a world that often judges by appearance or status, the kindness we show to others is what truly matters, and it has the power to change lives.🐔Kassbom Nasboi Adnan Saani

Success Has Many Relatives, Struggle Is an Orphan

In every society, success attracts a crowd. When a person rises, suddenly there are cousins, mentors, childhood friends. Smiles become plenty, advice flows freely, and praise arrives on time. But struggle? Struggle walks alone. When nights are long and pockets are empty, phones stay silent and doors close gently but firmly.

The world celebrates the fruit, not the roots that pushed through hard soil. Yet it is in loneliness and pressure that character is forged, vision is clarified, and true strength is born.

African Proverb:
“The child who is not embraced by the village will burn it down to feel its warmth.”
This proverb reminds us that abandonment during struggle can shape a person just as powerfully as support during success. When society ignores those in pain, it shouldn’t be surprised when the wounded return changed, sometimes hardened, sometimes unrecognizable.

Struggle is a strict teacher with no audience, but its lessons last longer than applause. Success may introduce you to people, but struggle introduces you to yourself.

Lessons
🎈Loyalty is revealed in hard times. Those who stand with you when you have nothing are your true relatives.
🎈Strength is built in silence. The days no one sees you are the days you grow the most.
🎈Success tests character, struggle builds it. Many can smile with you at the top, few can kneel with you at the bottom.
🎈Empathy is earned through pain. Those who have struggled understand others more deeply.

Moral
👌Do not despise your season of struggle. It may feel like abandonment, but it is preparation. And when success finally arrives with its many relatives, remember the orphaned days. Be humble. Be generous. Be the person who shows up for others when no one else does because today’s orphaned struggle is tomorrow’s celebrated success.
