Still on Omega 3 fatty acids
Here are some food sources of omega-3 fatty acids
1: Mackerel also called Titus in Nigeria
Mackerel are small fatty fish and contains nutrients that help maintain your brain and heart health.
2: Salmon
Salmon is one of the most nutrient dense foods on the planet. It contains high quality protein and various nutrients including large amount of vitamin D, selenium and B Vitamins. Studies show that people who regularly eat fatty fish such as salmon have a lower risk of conditions such as heart disease, dementia and depression.
3: Cod liver oil
Cod liver oil is more of a supplement than a food
It's an oil extracted from the livers of cod fish. This oil is high in Omega 3 fatty acids and loaded with vitamins D and A . A single table spoon provides 170% and 453% of the daily value respectively.
Therefore taking just 1 tablespoon of cod liver oil more than satisfies your need for three essential nutrients.
4: Oysters
Oysters are among the most nutritious foods you can eat
5: Sardines
Sardines are very small oily fish.
They are highly nutritious especially when eaten whole.
They contain almost every nutrient your body needs.
You may not readily get these food sources of omega 3 fatty acids but you can get them in supplements in required amounts.
In my next post, I'd share with you a good supplement that not only contains these food sources of omega 3 fatty acids but also improves your overall well-being.

STILL ON OMEGA -3 FATTY ACIDS
HERE ARE SOME BENEFITS OF OMEGA 3 FATTY ACIDS👇
1: Improve bone and joint health.
Arthritis and osteoporosis are common disorders that affect the skeletal system. It was found out that omega 3 helps improve bone strength by boosting the amount of calcium in the bone. According to research, omega 3 also helps to treat arthritis as it was found out that omega 3 supplements were able to significantly reduce pain in people with osteoarthritis of the synovial joint.
2: Improve sleep
Good sleep is one of the foundation of optimal health.
Sleep deprivation has been linked to many diseases including obesity, diabetes and depression.
Studies have shown that supplementing your food with omega 3 improves certain aspects of sleep and protect against sleep disturbances.
3: Help prevent cancer

4: Prevent age related mental decline
Higher omega 3 intake has been linked to decrease age-related mental decline.
5: Improve eye health
Not taking enough Docosahexanoic acid (DHA) which is a type of omega 3 fatty acids may result to vision problem, this could cause macular degeneration leading to permanent eye damage and blindness.
In my next post I will share with you foods that are very high in omega 3 fatty acids so you can incorporate them into your meals and prevent those diseases that await people at older age.
You might have heard so much about omega-3 fatty acids but still wondering what they are and their benefits to our health.
Omega-3 fatty acids are "healthy fats" that support our heart health.
Our body can't produce the amount of Omega-3 fatty acids we need to survive. So omega-3 fatty acids are essential nutrients which means we need to get them from the foods we eat.
The fact that there are healthy fats also means that there are unhealthy fats. Two main types of fatty acids are saturated (unhealthy) fats and unsaturated (healthy) fats.
Unsaturated fat is broken down into polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats. These are the forms you can commonly see on nutrition labels.
Unsaturated fats are known as bad or unhealthy fats because they increase the risk of certain diseases like heart diseases and stroke. Unsaturated fats (polyunsaturated and monounsaturated) are considered "good" or "healthy" fats because they support our heart health when used in moderation.
In my next post, I will talk about benefits of omega-3 fatty acid and sources of omega-3 fatty acids.
As we go about our daily activities, it is also important to pay attention to our body and feed it the right nutrients so that the money we are making today won't be spent on managing chronic diseases at older age.
Stay active always
Do not sit at a spot for too long. Get up at intervals, walk around and do some stretches. This would help get blood pumping to all parts of your body and may also help prevent some risks of cardiovascular diseases
Cooking up something.

At any point you're angry or feeling stressed out you can just perform "Deep breathing exercise" to reduce anger and feel relaxed.
HOW TO PERFORM DEEP BREATHING EXERCISE.
Relax your mind and body, breath in deeply and slowly through your nose, and breath out gently and slowly through your mouth. While breathing out through your mouth, ensure your mouth is shaped like you're trying to whistle and then let the air go out through your mouth.
While performing deep breathing exercise, your focus should be on your stomach, you can place your hands on your stomach and feel your stomach rise while breathing in and feel it go back to its normal shape while you breath out.
NB: your chest and shoulders shouldn't obviously rise while breathing in but you should see your stomach rising while breathing in and that shows you're doing it the right way.

Today on "Women's Health" we'd be talking about PELVIC FLOOR MUSCLES.
PELVIC FLOOR MUSCLES
As a woman, down below you have three openings: the urethral opening for passage of urine, the va**nal opening for passage of monthly flow and for pe*******on, a**l opening for passage of faeces. The picture below may help you understand what I'm talking about.
These three openings are surrounded and reinforced by muscles known as "pelvic floor muscles."
These muscles help to hold your pelvic organs like the uterus, the bladder, the re**um e.t.c in place. They also help in sexual function, they help to hold urine and faeces as well.
This means that when these muscles are weak, your internal organs may start popping out from your va**na and that is what is called "prolapse".
When they're weak, you could also loose control of urine which means urine will be trickling down without your notice and that is what is called "urinary incontinence."
Prolapse and incontinence are commonly seen in post-partum women or in women who engage in heavy lifting always. The weight of the baby rests on the pelvic floor muscles and in some cases weakens them and lead to pelvic floor muscle dysfunction.
We can strengthen our pelvic floor muscles through some exercises.
As a young lady, a mom or mom to be, pelvic floor muscle exercises (kegel exercise) should be part of your daily activities. You wouldn't want to start treating a condition that is preventable.
You'd get to know how to perform pelvic floor muscle exercises in my next post
Stay tuned...

Yesterday my friend, business partner and upline Edeh Chidinma was inducted into the nursing profession.
Five years journey that extended to 6 years plus because of COVID 19 and strike finally came to an end.
While in school she started a side business which she has been building ever since. With hard work, consistency and persistence, side business is gradually becoming the main business.
I'm glad to have learnt about this business opportunity through her. I got to realise that being a student shouldn't be a limitation rather an opportunity to try out new things, an opportunity to start a side business to afford certain things for yourself and not being hundred percent dependent on others.
I've hard interactions with a lot of graduates about life after school and some of them who didn't have anything going on while in school told me that if only they knew, they would have started up something while in school rather than waiting to graduate.
According to them "life in school is hard but life after school is harder".
Remember, being a student is not an occupation. Stay productive.
