Below are the function of blood that you need to know
1• Defense function ; the blood help in fighting off or removing foreign invaders from your body by using the white blood cells
2• Regulation of body temperature; through a process known as vasodilation, blood flow increase within your skin and this lowers body temperature.
Through another process called vasoconstriction, the blood raise body temperature to an appropriate level
3• Respiratory Function; your blood is responsible for carrying oxygen from the lungs to the tissues where it is needed.
It also carries carbon dioxide to the lungs from the tissues
4• Hormone and Enzyme transportation; Hormones are usually released by ductless glands into the blood.
Through the blood they are transported to different sites where they are needed.
So, your blood can play a role in hormonal balance and imbalance features
5• Excretory Function; different waste products are carried by the blood to the kidney, skin, and liver.
From these organs, they eventually exit your body
6• Nutritional Function; When you eat, the foods are absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract into your blood.
The blood helps to carry them to different parts of the body to initiate growth, repair or maintenance
7• Storage function ; During periods of fluid loss, electrolyte loss and starvation, the blood supplies the required components as it serves as a readily available store house.
8. Regulation of water balance ; through a good relationship with the kidneys, your blood can take up more or less water, depending on what the body needs at the time
9• Regulation of Acid-Base Balanc; your blood consists of a system of buffers that helps to control Acid and base levels.
Blood proteins, carbonic acid, and hemoglobin are examples of components that constitute the buffer system
All these functions are needed especially by your body and any compromise in your blood quality may affect a good number of these functions
Please always monitor your blood for volume, cell quality & quantity, and pressure.
Report any unusual blood; no let anybody or anything suck your blood 😊 .

Watermelon is mostly water (about 90%), but it also contains vitamins, antioxidants, and natural sugars that can support hydration and overall health.
Health benefits of watermelon
Keeps you hydrated
Its high water content helps maintain fluid balance, especially in hot weather or after exercise.
Rich in antioxidants
Watermelon contains lycopene, which may help protect cells from damage and support heart health. Lycopene is also linked to skin protection from sun damage.
Supports heart health
It provides potassium and an amino acid called citrulline, which may help blood flow and healthy blood pressure.
Good for digestion
The water and small amount of fiber can help support regular bowel movements
Low in calories
Watermelon is naturally sweet but relatively low in calories, making it a lighter snack option.
Contains vitamins and minerals
It provides:
Vitamin C (immune support)
Vitamin A (eye and skin health)
Potassium (muscle and nerve function)
Magnesium
May help muscle recovery
Citrulline in watermelon may reduce muscle soreness after workouts for some people.
Best times to eat watermelon
Morning or afternoon
Many people tolerate it best earlier in the day as a refreshing snack or part of breakfast.
Before or after exercise
It can help with hydration and provide quick natural carbohydrates for energy recovery.
Between meals
Eating it as a standalone snack may feel lighter and easier to digest for some people.
When to avoid or limit it
Right before bed
Because it contains lots of water and natural sugar, some people experience bloating or frequent urination at night.
If you have diabetes or blood sugar concerns
Watermelon has a high glycemic index, so portion control matters. Pairing it with protein or healthy fats can help slow sugar absorption.
If you have kidney problems
Large amounts may not be suitable for people who need to limit potassium or fluids.

Fresh slices chilled
Blended into smoothies
Added to fruit salads
