Doing this could make make your baby not gain weight adequately.
the first 6 months of life, your baby does not need extra water if you are doing exclusive breastfeeding. Bre@stmilk contains over 80 percent of water. Infact bre@stmilk is a complete balanced diet 😄😄 for your baby.
Giving a baby water while doing exclusive is wrong because, the water occupies the space bre@stmilk is supposed to occupy in the stomach. This make the baby not to get adequate bre@stmilk needed for his/her growth.
It is important to note that an infant’s stomach capacity is small; therefore, each feed should be nutritionally rich and sufficient.
In a nutshell, when you feel your baby is thirsty, just give bre@stmilk. After 6 months, you can start giving additional water and other age-appropriate foods.
