Glory be to Almighty God. This moment is a source of immense joy and fulfillment for me as a teacher. It highlights the fact that the knowledge, discipline, and values passed down are continuing to flourish and multiply. I express my heartfelt gratitude to Almighty Allah for this progress. May He continue to bless his work, enlarge his territory, and grant him greater success in the barbering industry. I also pray for the rest of my apprentices, including those who have gained independence and those who have taken permission to seek financial resources to establish their own salons. Lagos, Nigeria — April 22, 2026

The King Ogunremi Foundation (KOF) is proud to announce a significant milestone in its mission to combat illicit drug abuse and promote youth development across Nigeria. The foundation has been officially registered as a collaborating Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).

According to the formal letter issued by the NDLEA’s Directorate of Prevention and Sensitization, the King Ogunremi Foundation has successfully fulfilled all requirements for registration and has been duly recognized under registration number NDLEA/DPS/NGO/006/2026. This accreditation affirms KOF’s active role in drug abuse prevention, public sensitization, and community-based intervention efforts.

This achievement marks a critical step forward in strengthening institutional collaboration between KOF and Nigeria’s foremost anti-drug agency. It also provides a solid framework for expanded outreach, structured programs, and increased impact in addressing substance abuse among Nigerian youth.

Speaking on the development, the founder of the foundation, King Ogunremi, expressed deep appreciation to the NDLEA for the recognition and trust placed in the organization:

“This registration is not just an endorsement; it is a responsibility. We are grateful to the NDLEA for acknowledging our efforts and giving us the platform to do more. Together, we will intensify our campaigns, deepen our community engagement, and build a drug-free generation.”

This milestone comes at a crucial time as the foundation prepares for its flagship initiative, DAAC ITIRE 2026 (Drug Abuse Awareness Campaign ), scheduled to hold in June. The event is expected to engage over 500 young people through awareness sessions, mentorship, empowerment programs, and community dialogue.

The King Ogunremi Foundation (KOF), in collaboration with His Royal Majesty, Oba Tajudeen Odubiyi, the Onitire of Itireland, is proud to announce the upcoming Drug Abuse Awareness Campaign (DAAC) Itire 2026, scheduled to take place on Saturday, 27th June 2026 at the Onitire Palace, Itire, Surulere, Lagos.

With the powerful theme “Faith in Action: United Against Drug Abuse,” the event represents a bold and unified response to the growing challenge of illicit drug abuse among youths in Itire and surrounding communities. This initiative marks a historic milestone as the first Drug Abuse Awareness Campaign (DAAC) programme ever hosted in the Itire Kingdom.

Drug Abuse Awareness Campaign (DAAC) Itire 2026 is a community-driven intervention designed to engage, educate, and empower young people through awareness, mentorship, and practical support systems. The programme will bring together key stakeholders, including government agencies, traditional institutions, and youth-focused organisations to drive meaningful change.

I am thrilled to announce the launch of an online campaign, , designed by my office to provide entrepreneurship education, start-up toolkits and grants to young technicians and artisans across the nation.

This opportunity is inclusive. We welcome active technicians and artisans or trainees currently undergoing vocational training in government or privately-managed centers in the country, regardless of gender, age, background, or literacy level.

To participate, interested technicians or trainees are encouraged to register by sharing a short video, not exceeding 90 seconds, on either Facebook or Instagram, highlighting:
- Their experiences working or learning in their respective vocational fields.
- Their plans for growth in the year 2024.
- How the government can support their growth plans this year and in the long term.
