📖 The Love She Never Expected
Episode 8: The Choice He Made 💔❤️
Aisha stood still.
Her eyes were filled with years of pain, questions, and the memories she had tried so hard to forget.
Yusuf looked at her.
For a moment, it felt like the world had gone back three years.
The dreams they shared.
The wedding they planned.
The promises they made.
Everything came rushing back.
Amina watched silently.
She felt like a stranger standing in the middle of a chapter that was never meant for her to read.
"I never stopped loving you, Yusuf," Aisha finally said.
The words cut through the silence.
Yusuf lowered his eyes.
"Aisha..."
"Don't," she interrupted.
"Don't say you did it to protect me. I needed you beside me, not your sacrifice."
A tear rolled down her cheek.
"You made a decision for both of us."
Yusuf had no answer.
Because deep down, he knew she was right.
For years, he had convinced himself that leaving her was the kind thing to do.
But now, standing before her pain, he wondered if he had only created a deeper wound.
Amina quietly stepped backward.
"I think I should leave."
"No."
Yusuf's voice came immediately.
Both women looked at him.
His heart beat heavily.
For the first time, he realized the choice before him.
His past.
Or his present.
Aisha.
Or Amina.
But was love really that simple?
Yusuf took a deep breath.
"Aisha, I will always respect what we had."
Aisha's eyes filled with hope.
"But..."
That single word shattered the little peace in the room.
"My life changed when I lost my father."
"I became someone different."
"I spent years blaming myself and running away from everyone who cared for me."
He looked toward Amina.
"And then someone entered my life unexpectedly."
Amina's heart stopped.
Aisha followed his gaze.
The truth was clear.
Tears escaped her eyes.
"So this is the end of our story?"
Yusuf closed his eyes painfully.
"Maybe our story ended long ago, but I was too afraid to accept it."
Aisha smiled through her tears.
A painful smile.
"I waited for you, Yusuf."
Those words broke him.
Because he knew she was telling the truth.
Just then, a weak voice came from the hospital room.
"Yusuf..."
They all turned.
His mother was awake.
She had heard everything.
She looked at Aisha.
Then at Amina.
And she said something that none of them expected.
"Yusuf, you are about to make the same mistake twice."
The room became silent.
What did she mean?
Who was she asking him to choose?
Aisha?
Or Amina?

Episode 7: The Love He Lost 💔

Amina stood silently.
The words echoed in her mind.
"She was the woman I thought I would spend my life with."
For a moment, she didn't know what to say.
Yusuf looked away.
The corridor suddenly felt too quiet.
Too heavy.
Too uncomfortable.
Amina forced a small smile.
"I should probably go home."
Yusuf looked at her immediately.
"Amina..."
But she shook her head gently.
"It's late."
He nodded.
Yet neither of them moved.
Finally, Amina turned and walked away.
As she disappeared down the corridor, Yusuf felt something he hadn't felt in a long time.
Fear.
Not the fear of losing his mother.
But the fear of losing someone who mattered.
That night, Amina couldn't sleep.
She kept thinking about Aisha.
About Yusuf.
About the sadness in his eyes.
And one question refused to leave her mind.
Why didn't they get married?
If they loved each other...
What happened?
The next morning, Yusuf sent a message.
"Can we talk?"
Amina stared at her phone.
For several seconds.
Then she replied.
"Okay."
They agreed to meet later that evening.
When they met, Yusuf looked tired.
The past few days had clearly taken a toll on him.
For a while, neither of them spoke.
Then Yusuf finally broke the silence.
"I owe you an explanation."
Amina remained quiet.
Yusuf sighed.
"Aisha and I were engaged."
Amina's heart sank.
Even though she already suspected it.
Hearing it confirmed felt different.
"My mother loved her."
He smiled sadly.
"And I loved her too."
The words hurt more than Amina expected.
Yet she listened.
Because she wanted the truth.
"Three years ago, everything was ready."
"Our families had agreed."
"The wedding date had been fixed."
Amina watched him carefully.
Then his smile disappeared.
"Two weeks before the wedding, my father died."
The words hit hard.
Yusuf looked down.
"It destroyed my family."
"Everything changed overnight."
"The business collapsed."
"Money became a problem."
"My mother's health began to fail."
Amina's heart ached.
Now she understood.
"I told Aisha she deserved better."
Yusuf continued.
"I didn't want her trapped in a difficult life."
Amina frowned.
"So you ended it?"
Yusuf nodded slowly.
"It was the hardest thing I've ever done."
A tear rolled down his cheek.
"I thought I was protecting her."
Just then, a voice interrupted them.
"Protecting me?"
Both of them froze.
Amina turned.
And there stood Aisha.
Her eyes filled with tears.
"You never gave me a choice."
The tension in the air became unbearable.
Amina's heart raced.
Yusuf stood up slowly.
"Aisha..."
But she wasn't finished.
"You decided for both of us".
"And then you disappeared."
The pain in her voice was impossible to ignore.
For the first time, Amina realized something.
The story wasn't over.
Not even close.

Episode 6: The Woman in the Corridor 👀❤️

Yusuf remained seated beside his mother's bed.

Her words echoed in his mind.

"Don't let good people leave your life."

He glanced toward the door.

Amina stood quietly outside, giving them space.

For the first time in a long while, Yusuf felt grateful.

Grateful that someone had stayed.

Grateful that someone cared.

His mother noticed the look on his face and smiled.

"She must be special."

Yusuf laughed softly.

"Mama..."

"I'm serious."

He shook his head.

"We're just friends."

His mother smiled knowingly.

"If you say so."

Before Yusuf could reply, a knock came from the door.

A nurse entered.

"Visiting hours are almost over."

Yusuf nodded.

After making sure his mother was comfortable, he stepped outside.

Amina was waiting.

"How is she?" she asked.

"Stable."

Amina smiled.

"Alhamdulillah."

For a moment, relief settled between them.

Then Yusuf noticed something strange.

A woman standing at the far end of the corridor.

Watching them.

The moment their eyes met, she looked away.

Yusuf froze.

"Aisha?"

The woman stopped walking.

Slowly, she turned around.

Amina looked from Yusuf to the woman.

She immediately sensed tension.

The woman approached them.

Her face was calm.

But her eyes told a different story.

"Yusuf."

Her voice was cold.

Yusuf looked uncomfortable.

"What are you doing here?"

Aisha crossed her arms.

"I came to visit your mother."

Then her eyes moved toward Amina.

"And who is she?"

The question felt heavier than it should have.

Amina smiled politely.

"I'm Amina."

Aisha nodded.

But the smile never reached her eyes.

For several seconds, silence filled the corridor.

Finally, Aisha spoke.

"You moved on quickly."

Yusuf's expression changed immediately.

Amina frowned.

Moved on?

What did she mean?

"Aisha..."

Yusuf warned quietly.

But Aisha continued.

"No, tell her."

Yusuf looked away.

The tension in the air became unbearable.

Amina suddenly felt like she was standing in the middle of a conversation she didn't understand.

Aisha laughed bitterly.

"Maybe she doesn't know."

"Aisha, stop."

But she didn't.

Instead, she looked directly at Amina.

"Three years ago, Yusuf and I were supposed to get married."

Amina's heart skipped.

What?

Yusuf closed his eyes.

As though he had hoped this moment would never come.

Aisha continued.

"Our families knew each other."

"We had plans."

"We had dreams."

Her voice trembled.

"Then everything changed."

The corridor became silent.

Amina could barely process what she had heard.

She looked at Yusuf.

Waiting.

Hoping he would explain.

But Yusuf said nothing.

Not because he didn't want to.

Because he didn't know where to begin.

Aisha wiped away a tear.

Then smiled sadly.

"I should go."

She turned and walked away.

Leaving confusion behind.

Leaving questions behind.

Leaving Amina speechless.

For several moments, neither Yusuf nor Amina spoke.

Finally, Amina broke the silence.

"Yusuf..."

He looked at her.

"Who is she?"

Yusuf lowered his eyes.

And the answer he gave changed everything.

"She was the woman I thought I would spend my life with."

📖The Love She Never Expected💜

Episode 5: The Call That Changed Everything 💔

"My mother..."

Yusuf's voice trembled.

The phone slipped from his hand and landed on the ground.

For a moment, he stood frozen.

Unable to move.

Unable to speak.

Unable to think.

"Amina..."

His eyes filled with fear.

"The hospital..."

Without waiting another second, Yusuf picked up the phone and rushed away.

Amina followed him immediately.

The journey felt endless.

Neither of them spoke.

The sound of Yusuf's rapid breathing filled the silence.

When they finally arrived at the hospital, Yusuf ran inside.

Amina followed closely behind.

The bright lights of the hospital corridor felt cold and frightening.

Yusuf's heart pounded.

A nurse approached him.

"Yusuf?"

"Yes."

"Please come with me."

His legs suddenly felt weak.

The nurse led him to a private room.

A doctor was waiting.

The expression on the doctor's face made Yusuf's stomach tighten.

"Doctor..."

The doctor sighed softly.

"Your mother's condition worsened suddenly."

Yusuf's eyes widened.

"But we were able to stabilize her."

Relief washed over him.

For a brief moment.

Then the doctor continued.

"However, she needs a procedure urgently."

The relief disappeared.

"How much?"

The doctor hesitated.

Then mentioned an amount.

Yusuf felt the ground disappear beneath him.

It was more money than he had.

Much more.

The doctor placed a hand on his shoulder.

"We'll do everything we can."

Yusuf nodded silently.

After the doctor left, he sat alone in the corridor.

His hands covered his face.

For the first time in years, he felt completely helpless.

He had spent months caring for his mother.

Working extra hours.

Saving every naira.

Praying every night.

Yet it still wasn't enough.

A few moments later, Amina sat beside him.

Neither of them spoke.

She simply sat there.

And somehow, that meant more than words.

After a long silence, Yusuf finally spoke.

"I'm scared."

Amina looked at him.

It was the first time she had heard him admit it.

"I'm scared of losing her."

His voice cracked.

"She's all I have left."

Amina's heart broke.

She wanted to say something comforting.

Something wise.

But some pain was too deep for speeches.

Instead, she quietly said,

"You won't face this alone."

Yusuf looked at her.

Their eyes met.

And for the first time, he realized she meant it.

Hours later, Yusuf was allowed to see his mother.

She looked weak.

Much weaker than before.

But when she saw him, she smiled.

"My son."

Yusuf sat beside her bed and held her hand.

"I'm here, Mama."

She looked at him carefully.

Then her eyes moved toward the door.

Toward Amina.

A gentle smile appeared on her face.

"Who is that young lady?"

Yusuf froze.

Amina looked away immediately.

His mother laughed softly.

Despite her condition, her eyes sparkled with amusement.

"She seems kind."

Yusuf smiled.

"Yes."

His mother squeezed his hand.

"Don't let good people leave your life."

The words stayed in Yusuf's heart.

Little did he know...

Someone else had overheard the conversation.

A woman standing outside the room.

Watching.

Listening.

And the moment she saw Yusuf looking at Amina...

Her expression darkened.

Kangaroos have one of the most fascinating reproductive systems in the animal kingdom. According to the Australian Museum, female kangaroos possess three v*ginas and two uteruses. The two side vaginas are used to carry s***m to each uterus, while the middle one serves as the birth canal. This unique setup allows them to manage multiple pregnancies at once.

What makes this even more remarkable is their ability to pause embryo development. As explained by National Geographic, a female kangaroo can simultaneously support three offspring at different stages: one joey outside the pouch, one developing inside it, and one embryo waiting in a uterus. This reproductive strategy, known as embryonic diapause, helps kangaroos survive Australia’s unpredictable climate by ensuring that reproduction continues even during harsh conditions.

The joey, born the size of a jellybean, crawls into the pouch immediately after birth to continue developing. According to the University of Melbourne, this journey from womb to pouch is guided entirely by instinct, as the newborn is blind and hairless. Once inside, it latches onto a teat and stays there for months.
