Happy Wednesday!
How has this week been so far?
Welcome to this week's read on Perfume 101.
Today, we're recommending perfumes for different occasions.
If you're the type that struggles on what kind of scent to be on when going for outings, read on. If you're the type that isn't bothered and just uses the same perfume for all outings, still read on. Let's learn together.
It's quite hard to group outings, but we could say some basic ones could be grouped into:
- Formal(business meetings, jobs interview, etc), celebratory(wedding parties, birthday parties, etc) casual(visit to a mall, get togethers, etc) and group(dinner dates, movie shows, etc).
1. Formal outings: when going on formal outings, you're most likely with a professional aura. Best perfumes to put on are fresh/citrusy scents with an eau de toilette strength. You don't want to overwhelm other people around you.
2. Celebratory outings: since it captures celebration, you're most likely to be bubbly. Best perfumes to put on are clean and fresh scents with an eau de parfum strength.
3. Casual/informal outings: when going out informally, it is best to wear on something floral, earthy or citrusy with an eau de toilette strength.
4. Group outings: whether it's with your partner or with a group of friends, putting on an oriental/spicy scent matches best. Eau de parfum are recommendable.
I hope you learnt a thing or two...
Thank you for reading through.π₯°

Hello, Scent Fam!
Welcome to another week on Perfume 101!
Today, we're discussing:
Perfume Concentration
What is Perfume Concentration?
Simply, perfume concentration refers to the strength of a particular fragrance.
In making perfume sprays, the two main ingredients are fragrance oil and alcohol. Therefore, it is how much of fragrance oil vs less alcohol that defines it's concentration.
I hope it didn't become more confusing??π₯²
Why then is it important to know this?
It is important because it'd help you understand how strong the perfume you're about to buy is.
Some people would prefer something really strong and long lasting, while some would prefer something really mild and short lasting.
A number of times, people have purchased either too strong or too mild perfume for their liking because they didn't have knowledge on what they chose.
How then do I know the perfume to choose?
On every perfume bottle, it's concentration is usually written.
What then are the types of concentration?
1. Parfum: Also known as Extrait de parfum has the highest concentration rate of 20%-30%. It lasts up to 10 hours on the skin.
2. Eau de parfum: this is the most preferred concentration by people because it's much affordable and accessible. It's concentration rate is 15%-20%. It last for about 8 hours on the skin.
3. Eau de toilette: I'd call this concentration the middle man because it is neither too string nor too mild. It's concentration rate is 5%-15%. It lasts about 4-6 hours on the skin.
4. Eau de cologne: this one comes more mild with about 2%-5% concentration rate and it lasts at most 2 hours on the skin.
5. Eau de fraiche: it is mostly made with more water rather than alcohol. It's concentration rate is about 1%-3%. It last in between 1-2 hours.
Having this knowledge now, you don't have to feel overwhelmed by your perfume spritz and sprays because you're picking what works best for you.
I hope you enjoyed the read?

Good day, Scent Fam!
Trust you had a great day!
Welcome to another episode or session- or whatever grammar best suites our amazing weekly read- of Perfume 101!
Categories/Families of Fragrance.
Families of Fragrance simply put are the different Scent groups that perfumes fall under.
What exactly or why is it important to know this?
Have you ever wondered why you prefer a certain Perfume to another? Or why you don't just pick any perfume when you purchase one and would go through the hassle of smelling a variety of scents to get the type that fits your sense of smell?
This is because of the family that particular perfume fall under.
It is helpful to know which family you're attracted to before shopping for a new scent.
While most products aren't labelled with the scent family, you should be able to find out which perfume ingredients make up the fragrance. Seeing the ingredients then in turn helps to pick your preference easily.
I hope you enjoyed this read

Welcome to 'Perfume 101'!π
The History of Perfume.
Fragrance and scent has been since the very beginning of mankind. Right from when God created the Earth, the Earth brought forth grasses, herbs, fruit tree and seed, all of which had their own unique scents(some pleasant and some unpleasant)
As humanity began to evolve, they began to put these plants into use by extracting it's oils through various methods. These natural oils were what became the main components of perfumes.
According to history, the Egyptians were the first to discover perfume and then it was refined by the Romans, the Persians and the Arabs.
Throughout the ancient civilization, the interest in aromatic ingredients grew exponentially as did the variety of their applications. Fragrances were used in religious ceremonies, medieval medicine and to demonstrate wealth and power.
The history of perfume really is a thrilling one.β€οΈβπ₯
I hope you enjoyed reading through as much as I did.π€
