HOW TO GET RID OF DRY HAIR

Ever wondered why your hair always looks dull and frizzy? Well, if you haven't given it a thought, here's your answer, you likely have a DRY HAIR.

WHAT'S A DRY HAIR?
Dry hair is when your scalp doesn't make enough oil to keep it moisturized leading to your hair having a dull and frizzy look.

Think no further on how to get rid of your dry hair as I would be telling us FIVE ways to get rid of a dry hair.

1. Wash your hair less often; washing your hair frequently could possibly make your hair dry. Minimize your hair wash day to once or twice a week instead of everyday.

2. Use a mild shampoo; avoid using shampoo with alcohol (excluding fatty alcohol) as an ingredient as it could lead to dry hair.

3. Use a leave-in conditioner; embrace using a leave-in conditioner as it leaves your hair moisturized all week and retains your natural hair oils.

4. Use natural oils; massage your hair with natural oils like coconut oil, olive oil, jojoba oil and castor oil.

5. Limit heat styling; the use of heat styling tools like hair dryer, straightener and curling iron can damage one's hair.

TRANSITIONING: RELAXED TO NATURAL

Five(5) ways to transition

✨ Trim your hair when necessary
If you're wondering how to transition to natural hair without chopping it all off, a gradual trimming of your hair ends is necessary to remove the relaxed hair. This can be done monthly as hair growth differs from individuals.

✨ Condition your hair regularly
A regular conditioning of your hair is essential to avoid hair breakage which would be bad for a transitioning hair. Transitioning hair are usually delicate.

✨ Choose a protective hairstyle
While transitioning, choose a protective hairstyle like cornrows, box braids, crochet that can be carried for weeks to allow new growth of hair. This also allows your hair to breathe.

✨ Avoid heat styling
During the process of transitioning to natural hair, avoid heat styling your hair. Stretching, curling or blow-drying your hair shouldn't be entertained. After your wash-day, towel-dry your hair.

✨ Exercise patience
The journey of transition to natural hair can't be achieved in a day. It takes time ranging from weeks to a year(s) before you start seeing changes. All these depend on the hair growth of the individual.

ALLOW YOUR SCALP TO REST

As a woman, we always want to look good no matter the cost that we forget that our scalp needs to rest once in a while. For the whole of January, different hairstyles were mapped out already for you to do, but this is another month, why don't you give your hair a break?
You could do a protective hairstyle, allow fresh air into your hair for once.
Don't know protective hairstyles to do? You can leave a comment 😘

In my last post, I talked about lice and how we can get it. If you haven't read that, this is the link 👉https://www.facebook.com/101720701766092/posts/365330138738479/?app=fbl

How do we treat lice?
There are ways to treat lice including relaxing your hair, using metholated shampoo and also using camphor mixed with water.
The most effective of these remedies is . To use camphor to treat lice, you would need kerosene🙂, you saw right, dissolve the camphor in the kerosene till you can't see the camphor anymore after which you would then pour the mixture on your hair(massage it properly and thoroughly). Mind you, this is painful, I repeat, painful. If you can't endure the pain, please stick to relaxing your hair. After the mixture has stayed for a while, you can wash it off. Please be aware that your hair would smell like kerosene for a while but trust me, you would testify of how effective this method is.

You can try relaxing your hair, but know that the lice won't go at once. You'd have to relax your hair for a while for it to leave completely.

Using metholated shampoo would also take time for the lice to leave your hair completely

are small parasitic insects which feeds on blood in the hair or body but my focus would be on . You could be wondering, "how does one get lice?" The answer is not far-fetched.
You could get it from the saloon where you make your hair either from the towel used to dry the hair of a lice infested person( when you retouch) or from the comb used on the person when you plait your hair, it could drop on your body without your knowledge(yes, you were not expecting it on your body anyways🤷) and then make its way into your hair.

You could get it from your siblings, friends or even your spouse(men can also get lice😎,e shock you?)(the ones that grow their hair) You could get it from your kids, they make their hair in the saloon, don't they?☺️

How would you know if you have lice?
At first, you would think it's dandruff because it would itch you but the difference between the two is that lice would itch you at the back of your hair and besides your ear. You would ask, why is it only that area? It's simple, that's the place you would feel the heat from the sun less(they can't survive under sun)
