Adopted Igala Wify

In Igala land, when a woman divorced her hubby and remarries, her male children are not allowed to spend the night under the same roof with her again, otherwise they unalive.

My friend had been clamouring for his mum to divorce his dad since before 1800 but she kept saying for the kids. He took his mum to the UK for a medical checkup some years ago and made sure to change his mum's dressing and almost pimped her out. He got lucky, she met someone who became friendly and long story short stayed for 4 months instead of 1 month.

She went back again, this time her husband suddenly realised she is not old after all and wants to jigijigi. Mummy said she doesn't want and daddy reported to relatives... They sha divorced.

Mummy and new man lives in the UK and comes to Nigeria often. My friend came with his child and wife and guess where they stayed? Mummy and new lover's house.

I know the tradition, I'm Igala and I have heard how deadly this tradition is so I asked my friend if he is not scared of dying. The werey laughed so hysterically and said "Tradition is for poor people, do I look poor to you"?

Me: No sir, you don't look poor, you look like a mad man who is ready to give your father a heart attack.

This Christmas that we celebrated, him and his siblings spent it in Nigeria with their mum and her new hubby. They didn't even go and see their daddy. So I said "Ibegwu will catch all of you".

My friend said "When daddy was maltreating our mum, married second wife, stole all her hollandaise to marry 3rd wife, refused to give her some for food, used firewood with fire to stone her, broke all her beautiful Chinas her parents gave her for wedding, attempted to ràpe mummy's sister, withheld money mummy's brother sent to her, Ibegwu was sleeping oh. Now mummy is living her life and Ibegwu wants to wake up, if I deck Ibegwu daddy will feel it.
