MACBAN’S PLAN TO SHIELD ARRESTED HEIPANG ATTACK SUSPECT EXPOSED

The Berom Youth Moulders-Association (BYM), under the leadership of its National President, Barr. Dalyop Solomon Mwantiri, has received credible intelligence from an anonymous but reliable source indicating that the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) is allegedly making desperate efforts to procure a questionable medical certificate claiming that the suspect arrested in connection with the April 5, 2026 attack on Pwomol Village in Heipang District of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area is mentally unstable.
According to the intelligence report available to the Association, the alleged plan is to present the medical certificate to the Special Task Force (STF) under Operation Enduring Peace as grounds to pressure the authorities to release the suspect or face the threat of legal action.
BYM views this alleged move as a deliberate and desperate attempt to obstruct justice and shield an individual who reportedly participated in the attack that claimed three innocent lives in Pwomol community.
The Association wishes to state clearly that any such attempt must be rejected outright. Should any questionable medical certificate be presented in relation to this matter, the individuals responsible for producing or facilitating such a document must themselves be investigated and treated as accomplices in the attack against the people of Pwomol.
It is both illogical and unacceptable that a suspect who allegedly provided clear and detailed information about the attack in a community where he does not reside is suddenly being described as mentally unstable. The level of information reportedly supplied by the suspect about the incident raises serious questions about the credibility of any sudden claim of mental incapacity.

Army arrest 15-year-old ISWAP member linked to killing of Brig.-Gen. in Borno

Troops of the Joint Task Force Operation Hadin Kai have arrested a 15-year-old terror suspect over his alleged involvement in a deadly attack that led to the recent killing of a Nigerian Army Brigadier General in Borno State.

According to reports, the teenager is a member of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) and a logistics courier in Ngamdu, Borno, and has been linked to recent terrorist attacks and ongoing military airstrikes on insurgent enclaves in the Jilli axis.

Tijjani was reportedly apprehended on Sunday while attempting to procure logistics for insurgent fighters operating within the Ngamdu–Benisheik corridor.

According to security sources, the suspect confessed during preliminary interrogation that he participated in the attacks on Benisheik and Ngamdu carried out on Thursday.

“My name is Tijjani, I am 15 years old. I was arrested today in Ngamdu. I was among the terrorists that attacked Benisheik and Ngamdu,” the source quoted him as saying.

He reportedly disclosed that the group mobilised from Jilli, a known insurgent stronghold in Gubio Local Government Area, before executing the attacks and subsequently returned to the enclave.

“Before the attack we came from Jilli and returned there after the attack,” he said.

The suspect further revealed that he was redeployed from Jilli on Saturday with the sum of N850,000 to procure supplies for other fighters.

“I was sent from Jilli yesterday with N850,000 to collect some logistics from Ngamdu, but I was arrested by troops,” he reportedly stated.

He added that he left behind other fighters at the Jilli enclave but could not confirm their fate following the recent military airstrikes on the area.

“I left my colleagues at Jilli yesterday. I don’t know what has happened to them there,” he said.

Condemnation of the Killing of a Herder and Rustling of Cattle in Bassa LGA

The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Plateau State Chapter, strongly condemns the tragic killing of a young herder, Aliyu Abdulrazak, aged 22, which occurred on the 12th of April, 2026, at Dan Tanko Village in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State.

Aliyu Abdulrazak was reportedly carrying out his lawful and peaceful grazing activities when he was brutally attacked and killed. This senseless act of violence is not only inhumane but also a grave violation of the fundamental right to life.

In addition to this heinous crime, the attackers also killed five (5) cows and rustled fifteen (15) others belonging to the victim. This represents a serious economic loss to the family and further deepens the insecurity faced by pastoral communities in the area.

MACBAN views this incident as unacceptable and calls on security agencies to urgently investigate, apprehend, and prosecute those responsible for this barbaric act. Justice must be served to deter further occurrences and restore confidence among herders and law-abiding citizens.

We also call on all stakeholders, community leaders, and government authorities to take proactive measures in promoting peaceful coexistence, dialogue, and mutual respect among all communities in Bassa LGA and beyond.

The association remains committed to peace and will continue to support all lawful efforts aimed at ensuring harmony and security for all.
