Hello, I am a Professional Nurse Educator, Certified Reproductive Health Counselor /Sexuall Health Therapist/Healthy Lifestyle Coach.

I saw a post of a nursing mother on Facebook seeking to know what supplements she can used to restore her skin concerns as a nursing mother.
Many suggestions were made in the comment section and I got really worried and concern, hence this post.

I will suggest to us to kindly avoid the use of any Supplement and Herbals as a NURSING MOTHER.

Wait until we are DONE BREASTFEEDING OUR BABY.

Many of these supplements and Herbals are NOT advisable to be taken whilst breastfeeding a child because they may have adverse effects on babies and babies immune system are not yet developed to synthesize supplements.

ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT WHATEVER A MOTHER TAKES IN DURING BREASTFEEDING IS WHAT YOU ARE PASSING TO YOUR BABIES DURING THE BREASTFEEDING PERIODS, and our baby's health should be prioritized.
