Bertha...5

It took bertha a month to locate where Andrew’s wife lives and she decided to pay the wife a visit. Bertha chose a day Andrew told her he had a customer he was taken to another town for delivery of goods.
Bertha had rehearsed what she will say to the wife and also show her proof of her relationship with Andrew. She knocked on the door and the wife opened the door.. “ Good afternoon, My name is Bertha”
“ come in.. I have kinda being expecting you”
It was a long and awkward moment because this was not what Bertha was expecting to here.
“ I know you must be surprised that I know your name.. I know about Andrew and his escapades but as long as he doesn’t bring it home or do it under my nose, I turn a blind eye. You are not the first girl nor will you be the last girl. I knew of your relationship from day 1, how you were giving him money and gifts, I know all..as long as he was taking care of the family I don’t care because its not like he forced you to give him money. I know you have a lot of questions to ask. The house you go to meet belongs to his cousin who lives abroad.. so Andrew turned there to his slaughter house “ she said laughing.
“What did you even come here for” she hissed…” to scatter my marriage? It wont work oh..Andrew is my husband and nothing you will say or do will make me leave him. you saw a fine boy and you fell badly in love even when he refused to show you his family and friends..oh yes, I saw your chats and he told me.. wait first oh, do you think you are the only one? Andrew has a sugar mummy too. I told him, he can mess around as long as he brings money home and protect himself because I don’t want any bastard child”
Bertha sat speechless while the wife spoke. She couldn’t believe what she was hearing. “ now get ur scrawny and useless self out of my house. The next time I see you here, I wont be this nice” she said
“ don’t worry, I will tell Andrew that his game has cut where you are “ she said laughing..”foolish thing”

Bertha was so distraughted that she walked aimlessly for hours. There was nobody she could turn to; her mother didn’t care about her, her sister, Beulah has become a stranger, Ezinne will laugh at her.. she had no friends because Andrew told her not to keep friends. How was she going to pay back all the money she has given to him, she thought sadly to herself..
When she finally got home, she called Andrew’s line but it kept saying busy, she sent him a message on whatsapp and it did not deliver, it dawned on her that truly he has blocked her.
Bertha became a shadow of herself; it affected her mind and also reflected on her appearance. Ezinne tried to get her to talk but she felt ashamed of herself because Ezinne had warned her from the onset concerning Andrew.

Oga Qatar came back and discovered that money was missing and arrested Bertha. She was tortured and beating to confess but what was there to confess. She was sentenced to 9 years in prison. Bertha was just 23 years old.
Her whole stay in prison, no family member came to check on her only Ezinne who would come once in 3 months. While in prison, bertha had the opportunity to further her education through a Government owned Initiative. She obtained her Bsc in Accounting in prison which she intended to use to get a job hopefully when she lives the prison.
10years later, at the age of 33 years bertha was released from prison and guess who was waiting for her…Oga Qatar. Bertha was shocked and surprised when she saw that it was Oga Qatar that came to pick her from prison. Apparently, Ezinne had told him the whole story because bertha finally told her the whole story after she was sentenced. Oga Qatar has being getting update from Ezinne concerning bertha and how she had furthered her education while in prison.
“Bertha, everybody deserves a second chance and I hope you take advantage of this second chance and good use of it,” said Oga Qatar “ beside, I have not gotten any other person that can manage my business in my absence. If I had known the whole story from the onset what transpire, I would not have gotten you arrested but then again maybe you needed to go through this phase, to make you stronger.”
“I hope you make good use of this second chance”
“ I wont disappoint you Sir” Bertha replied, with tears in her eyes..

BERTHA 4...

Bertha took the parts Andrew needed for his car and brought it to him and they reconciled but deep down she was worried and scared because how was she going to pay back all the money she has being giving Andrew because she was yet to remit all the money to Oga Qatar.
One day, bertha was running an errand when she spotted Andrew’s car in an eatery. She was wondering what his car was doing here because he said he was going to spend he whole day at the mechanic. While she was still pondering, Andrew walked out with a pregnant lady and a little girl and from all indication, this was not a customer or client. She pulled out her phone and called Andrew who just looked a the phone and put the phone back in his pocket.
Bertha was shocked with what just happened. Getting back to the shop, she told ezinne what transpired and ezinne didn’t look surprised.
“ I have told you that this guy is just using you as pastime but you no wan hear.. a man that cant take you out during the day.. its only at night you guys see and meet. You have never met any of this family members or friends.. even his social media accounts, no one you have.. haba na! I am sure you are even spending money on him even if you will not tell me. I see how you behave whenever he calls you.. I even know when you are quarrelling because you will be moody. My sister, this guy has turn you to his human ATM machine.. better wise up”
Bertha knew deep down all what Ezinne was saying true but low self esteem made her to always turn a blind eye but she knew she had to find out the truth for herself before things get out of hand.
Bertha had a plan but she needed to be careful to execute it. First thing first was to get access to Andrew’s phones because they were passworded and he made sure the phone doesn’t leave his side. It took bertha 2 weeks to be able to figure out his passwords. The next step was to find a way to have access to the phones without him being aware.
With each passing day, bertha’s hatred for Andrew grew but she never showed it.. no wonder he always insisted on using protection. He monitored her menstrual cycle to ensure she sees it. Some days he wont come home claiming work held him. she couldn’t believe what low self esteem has caused her. How was she going to pay back all the money back to Oga Qatar and he called her that by month ending he is coming to check her accounts.
The following day, bertha bought Andrew’s favorite drinks and prepared his favorite meals. Andrew was surprised by the gesture and asked what they were celebrating but she laughed and said “ cant I treat my mind to a good time”.. she made sure she got him drunk that he passed out. When she was sure that he had passed out totally, she took his phones, entered the password. What she saw, made her weep. Andrew has being playing her all along. He never had an accident, he was never hospitalized and neither was he working when he claimed he was involved in an accident. On the day of his birthday, he was celebrating it with his wife, family and friends and here are pictures to proof it. Bertha couldn’t sleep throughout the night, she kept thinking how she was going to get all her money back and also hurt Andrew. The following morning, she left before he woke up.
Bertha knew she was in deep trouble because she knew she could not get her money back from Andrew but she could ruin his marriage and face any consequences from Oga Qatar. Bertha decided to trail Andrew on the days he doesn’t come home so that she can locate where his wife lives. Her lack of concentration at work was being noticed by her boss’ wife, who called her aside to ask her if all was well but bertha smiled and reply everything was ok.

Bertha 3

Later in the day, Andrew called her with another line . he said he was involved in a car accident and his car was in a wreck that he was in the hospital.. he said he lost his phones and wallet that he had to use someone’s phone to call her .she asked him which hospital he was in so that she could come but he told her not to worry that he will be fine.
Bertha was unsettled after the call..she tried calling the line back but nobody picked the call.. for 3 days, Bertha kept calling the line that Andrew had used to call but as usual, nobody was answering the call..
On the fourth day, Andrew called Bertha;
“ baby, I need your help.. I am still in the hospital.. I need your hel..you know I lost my phones and wallets. I need to pay he hospital bills and they are saying they wont discharge me with me offsetting the bills. The total bill is 117,000. You know I cant access my account, please can you send me the money so that I can pay, I will refund you back” he pleaded. “my boss is saying if I don’t resume work that I will loose my job, baby please look for way to help me out”
Bertha didn’t know what to do because she didn’t have that kind of money in her account because she just paid her younger ones school fees alone. Since her sister Beulah got married, she stopped catering for their younger ones. Her husband even banned them from visiting.
Andrew kept calling her every hour begging her to assist him. Its not as if Bertha didn’t have money in her account but it was not hers .. customers’ money was being paid in her account which by the end of the money she will have to remit all the money to oga Qatar. He promised to pay me back, she thought to herself. I will replace it back before oga finds out.
Bertha transferred the money to Andrew and he was discharged from the hospital. She went to his place after work, but he was not there. The next day, he called her that he had to travel home so that his mother could take care of him. bertha became suspicious because he had told her he needed to resume work yet he said he was travelling home to stay. Whenever bertha calls him, he wont pick his calls but call her back later at night.
Andrew would call and demand for money from bertha, he would come up with one excuse or the other why he couldn’t still access his accounts. After a month, Andrew came back and told bertha that he has lose his job. He said he needed to fix his car so he can use it for uber but that he didn’t have money to buy the parts. He told her to help her get the parts from her shop and she told him that she couldn’t and that all the money he borrowed from her, he was yet to pay. He got angry and started shouting that she should leave as he is now a failure who doesn’t have money. For a week, he refused to pick her calls. Bertha would go to his place after work because she believed she could never find a man to love her again..

BERTHA...2

Bertha sister’s wedding date has being set. She was getting married to a Banker she met barely 4 months ago.. Bertha tried to advise her to wait and get to know the man well but Beulah refused saying that she was tired of struggling and suffering that atleast if she marries Aaron, he will bare most of the burdens especially concerning their younger ones. When their mother heard what bertha told Beulah, she abused her and told Beulah that bertha was jealous because no man has ever asked her out.
On the day of the wedding, bertha was assisting in serving the guests and ensuring everything was going as planned when someone tapped her on the shoulder, she turned around to see a man smiling at her.
“ hello’
“hi”
“ do you need something Sir?” bertha asked
“I know you may not remember me but I was the guy that came to your shop to buy some spare parts and had issues with the money reflecting”
“ oh ok… I remember…sorry I didn’t recognize you”
“ I didn’t get ur name that day.. I am Andrew”
“ Bertha…its nice meeting you again”
“ I noticed you are among the organizers of the wedding, are you related to the bride or the groom”
“ the bride is my elder sister”
“ oh nice.. the groom is a friend to my cousin”
“it was nice meeting you again but I have to get back to what I was doing”
“ please before you go, can I have your number” Andrew asked..

In the days to come, Andrew would call bertha to check up on her. He would chat her up all day and also call her.. one day, he came to her shop to see her and he also bought lunch for her.. Bertha was surprised and touched because no man has ever shown interest in her.. Before the end of the month, Andrew asked bertha to be his woman and she agreed.
One person who wasn’t comfortable with the relationship was Ezinne.. she made her displeasure known to bertha when bertha told her..” I don’t like this guy” she said.. “there is something off about him”
Bertha who has never had a man asked her out was so happy that Andrew asked her to be his girlfriend. She would cook and take his place. She could only go to andrew’s place in the evenings after close of work and on weekends, Andrew would always claim to be busy..
Bertha started paying more attention on her appearance because Andrew told her that the reason he doesn’t take her out on dates what was her lack of fashion sense. On Andrew’s birthday, went all out for him but he never came back home. She called his line throughout but he never picked her call. Next day at work, ezinne noticed her countenance and after much probing , Bertha opened up to her.
“ I said it” shouted ezinne clapping her hands..” that guy is using you oh.. better shine your eyes”
“ stop saying that abeg, maybe something happened to hin”
“ something happened to him on his birthday but he couldn’t call his so called girlfriend abi..de deceive yourself.. you guys have being dating for over a year, you don’t know any of his friends or relative.. even the so called cousin that works in the same bank with your sister, you don’t know.. haba Bertha, you are supposed to be smart one here”
Everything Ezinne said was true..whenever bertha brought up the issue of Andrew not introducing her to his friends and relatives,he will always give an excuse that he is waiting for the right time. Yesterday was his birthday, she had bought him lots of expensive gifts; things he had specifically asked for yet till now he has not returned her calls. She waited for him in his place throughout the night but he didn’t come back home.

BERTHA

She was broken… “how could he do this to me after all the hidden sacrifices I had done for him” she thought to herself. “where do i start from?” how do I get myself out of this entanglement”
Bertha was a cashier in a big spare part shop in Alaba market and because of her honesty and diligence, her boss, Oga Qatar trusted her with the inflow of cash. She has being working for Oga Qatar for 8 years after she finished Secomdary school. Among all the girls that worked for Oga Qatar, she was the only one allowed to handle cash and also customers could pay money into her account.
Bertha is the second daughter in a family of 5. Their father woke up one morning,left for work and never came back. Even when they went to look for him there, they were told he had resigned over a week ago. Bertha and her siblings had to start catering for themselves at a young age because their mother told them bluntly that she will not carry all their responsibilities. Bertha and her her elder sister, Beulah decided to stopped their education so that they can cater for their younger ones.
A year later, bertha mother became a Mistress to Politician, who bought an apartment for her.. she told her kids that they can only live with her but on the account that they all live in the boys quarter and fend for themselves cos her “ Odogwu” said he doesn’t want them in the main building.
Bertha wasn’t blessed with the beauty that Beulah had, so it wasn’t a surprise when Beulah started having suitors. While Beulah was beautiful and had confidence while bertha was referred as the ugly duckling. Bertha has being mocked and bullied concerning her looks which made her loose her self confidence but one thing nobody could deny was bertha’s honesty and hardwork.
One day while at work, bertha was at the back of the shop, when she heard a commotion; raised angry voices. She saw one of the sales girls, Ezinne in a heated argument with a man.
“whats going on her, Ezinne”
“ its this man oh” said Ezinne… “ he claimed he did a transfer but it did not reflect and he wants to leave with the goods”
“Good day Sir, ” bertha said calmly “please can I see your debit receipt because normally, when a transfer is done, we get the notification on the POS she is holding” “ so for her not to have seen the credit alert, it means it has not reflected”
“ I showed her the debit alert when I did the transfer and I can show you again”, the man brought out his phone and her the debit alert. “ I told her it could be network and she is saying I am trying to scam her”
“oga, I didn’t call you a scammer oh..” retorted Ezinne in a rude way..
“ Ezinne, pleae keep quiet” said bertha “ you don’t talk to a customer that way”
“Sir, I am sorry for the way she spoke to you. Please can you give me some minutes for me to call our account officer to confirm?”
“please be fast about it, I need to talk this parts to my mechanic”

Bertha called the account officer who confirmed that the money has not reflected that it could be network. She told the customer that he has to wait for the money to reflect before he can leave. After an hour, the money reflected.

The first wife 3.
My daughter wasn't getting better and I knew she will never get better but I had to play the role of a good mother..
I made sure strong men of God did not come near my daughter so that their prayers don't reverse it and then I am exposed..
Deep down I was so angry especially when I saw Annabelle because she was supposed to be the one sick not my daughter!!
It looked as if there was a protection over Annabelle.
Then an incident happened in the hospital and I knew if I don't handle it well, I will be exposed so I made my sick daughter feel Annabelle was behind it and before you know it everybody felt Uju and daughter had a hand in my daughters sickness. My daughter started avoiding Annabelle and I had noticed Annabelle wasn't happy about it..good!!

My daughter isn't getting better and I knew soon she will die. And she later die. I wasn't happy but it was better she died than I did.
A thought came to my mind. So I called my jazz man to send spiritual attacks to Annabelle that will kill her so that it will look as if my late daughter killed her but that bastard child refused to die. It was as if there was a shield surrounding her, protecting her.

After the burial, I noticed Annabelle had run out of the compound..lol.. I guess she couldn't take the heat.

So I made sure to make life difficult for Uju. If she goes out, I will lock the gate so she can't come inside. She will knock on the gate and nobody will open for her...she will end up leaving and I don't care where she goes to sleep.

She even went as far as bringing people to talk to me but I didn't listen.. what is she even still doing in this compound? After all, the man that married her is dead!!

Some months later, she moved out. Her relatives came to help her pack her load.
My heart still wanted to deal with her. As for her daughter, she will remain single until I am satisfied!

I met another jazz man who was able to send stroke to Uju and it caught her!
Yes!!!

Uju suffered stroke for 2byesrts before she died..
Am I happy?

After the baby disappeared in her womb, Uju has been bleeding since then although she is behaving as if all is well but I know she is dying in silence..lol..
Or is it the strange occurrences happening in her house. She will wish she had died with that useless husband of mine..
Annabelle is growing into a woman.
I have to make sure that no man marries her. She will pay for her mother's sin. All of them must pay!

I heard Uju telling someone that so she is about to be mama graduate. Let me see how that will happen. That girl must die before she graduate.
Let me call my native doctor to cast a spell so that Annabelle will die in a car accident then Uju will die of heart break. Yes oh..
Annabelle came back suddenly from school and went to see her mum..I was surprised because Annabelle never goes to her mother's apartment except Uju calls her.. because how I did it is that Annabelle doesn't value her mother. So I was surprised how she came back and went straight to her mother's house.
She spent a lot of time . Annabelle spent the night in Uju's house which was strange because she has never slept in Uju's house.

The next day, Annabelle went back to school and I didn't know what happened in Uju's house. I was curious but I didn't know how to get the info because even Annabelle's behavior as she came back was different. It was like I was seeing a different person.

Two weeks later, one of my daughters fell sick. How?
That's not the plan. It's was not supposed to affect my own child. It was for Annabelle!!
I called my medicine man and he said he couldn't explain. I was so angry with him because this sickness will end in death.
Hmmmmm..
This changes everything.
I have to find a way to reverse it but the jazz man is saying that it can't be reversed and if it can't be reversed, it is me it will hit!
Hmmmmm.

The First Wife..

So I heard Uju's story was shared .
Well let me share mine.

I married a man who already had 2 children but he didn't marry their mother..He chose me.
Do you know what it is to see your husband pregnant other women and have the audacity to bring the children home just because he was rich?
I kept quiet. I was just absorbing everything. My own was as far as he doesn't bring any of those women into my house I don't have a problem.
Then one day I heard he went to pay the bride price of one small girl. I have heard one of my own relatives went with my husband..
The betrayal!!

So another woman wants to come and drag property with me abi.. let me see how she will birth children for my husband. I met a native doctor who I told that I don't want this small girl to give birth..
she will carry the child for 9 months then after delivery the child will die . The first two pregnancies, happened as planned but the third one, the baby which was Annabelle refused to die. I was so angry with native doctor..
I came back one day from work I saw one tiny thing in the parlor. The children told me that their father said it was their new sister.. so this man brought in another of his bastard child. Do I look like a baby nurse that will be taking care of his bastards..
Well, let Uju know she has finally lose her child because I will turn this child's mind from hers.. if Uju does not die childless, call me a bastard. She will be alive but it will look as if she is childless.
Years later, My husband built is own house and I was told that one apartment in the compound was for that small girl . I was enraged but I refused to show it. My husband suspected a fowl play with the 2 babies that died so I was always careful in showing any form of rage or anger.
After Uju moved, she was trying to stay on her lane which was good but just seeing her irritated me but I never showed it. I just made sure that her daughter mind never wandered to her.. I heard her reporting to people how her daughter treated her but wetin concern me. That's the price she will pay for marrying my husband..
Few years after we moved into the new place, my husband died.. I suspected who killed him but what's my own..he had it coming..
He wrote a will but I doctored it before it was read because the will that useless man wrote didn't favor me the way I wanted..

Are her actions justified?
