We came across two comments spreading some risky sunscreen advice, and we need to set the record straight.
"Just use gentle products in the morning so the sun won't react badly" — Sunscreen doesn't "react" with the sun. It blocks UV rays. No other product does this job, no matter how gentle it is.
"I never get sunburn, so my skin is fine" — Not burning doesn't mean not damaged. UVA rays cause premature aging, dark spots, and long-term skin damage silently, without ever causing a visible burn.
"My sunscreen always expires because I hardly use it" — This isn't something to be proud of. Skipping sunscreen doesn't mean your skin is "strong enough" not to need it, it just means the damage is happening quietly, and you'll see the bill later: premature wrinkles, dark spots, uneven tone, and sagging skin as you age. Sunscreen isn't a sign of weak skin, it's an investment in how your skin ages.
"Ladies stop using sunscreen, just get morning sun" — Enjoying morning sunlight and wearing sunscreen are not opposites. You can have both. Skipping SPF isn't the trade-off here.
Actives like vitamin C and retinoids are often used at night because they can increase sun sensitivity but that's an argument for wearing sunscreen in the morning, not against it.
