9 YEARS LATERā¦ I HAVE MY ANSWER. ā¤ļø
On July 7, 2017, I recorded this video on my last day as an employee after 7 years in paid employment.
I remember saying I had mixed feelings, but I also believed I was making the right decision. I even promised myself I would check back in six months to see if I had made the right choice.
Wellā¦ itās been NINE YEARS! š
And today, I can confidently say: YES, I DID.
Leaving paid employment was one of the boldest decisions I have ever made, and the opportunity that gave me the courage to take that step was network marketing ā Oriflame precisely.
That opportunity didnāt just give me an income. It gave me the freedom to be present for my young children and never miss the important milestones. It exposed me to possibilities I never knew existed. It gave me the wings to fly, the boldness to become who I was created to be, and the platform to discover and unleash potentials I had buried for years.
It even gave me the space to build the personal brand I have today.
Looking back, I realise that sometimes the path that looks least appealing can become the very path that changes your story.
I never imagined that network marketing would rewrite my story the way it has.
Nine years later, I am grateful I said YES to the opportunity. No regrets. Just gratitude. ā¤ļø
So to every woman and every mom reading this: donāt be afraid to dream differently. Be willing to explore possibilities outside the conventional path. Donāt let other peopleās opinions stop you from discovering what may be possible for you.

On this day in June 2017, I was recognized as a 21% Senior Manager with Oriflame.
At the time, I was working a full-time 8-to-5 job and commuting about 5 hours every day.
I had three children aged 8, 5, and 2, and no domestic help. Life was chaotic.
My husband and I woke up at 3am daily. While he bathed the children, I prepared breakfast and packed lunch boxes.
The older two would be dressed in their school uniforms, put back to bed, and locked safely indoors. The youngest would leave home with us at about 5am to be dropped off at a crĆØche inside our estate.
Then I would begin the long journey from Ajah to Lekki, spending up to 3 hours in traffic. Some days I arrived before 8am. Other days, I was late.
Every morning, I sat at my desk with a heavy heart.
Even though the older childrenās school was less than 10 minutes from our house, we had no choice but to use the school bus because there was nobody available to take them.
Around 7am, the school bus assistant would pick the key from under our entrance mat, enter the house, wake the children, and take them to school.
When the proprietress called to confirm they had arrived safely, I would breathe my first sigh of relief.
After school, the bus would bring them back home. The assistant would ensure they got inside, my oldest would lock the door behind them, and then call me from the landline.
That was my second sigh of relief.
Lunch was usually Golden Morn. My son only needed to add water for himself and his younger sister. Sometimes he added too much water and they ended up eating watery cereal.
Meanwhile, the youngest stayed at the crĆØche until we returned around 7pm to pick her up.
I was struggling.
My children were sacrificing.
And for a long time, this was our reality.
Then I found Oriflame.
For months, I hesitated because of people who had failed and insisted I would only waste my time. But I also saw women succeeding, ordinary women just like me.
I decided that if success stories existed, I could become one too.
I was using the products.
I loved the products.
I retailed the products.
I enjoyed immediate profits.
I shared the opportunity.
And I began earning performance commissions from people who said YES to Oriflame, whether for personal use or business.
I progressed through the ranks:
6%ā¦ 9%ā¦ 12%ā¦ 15%ā¦ 18%ā¦ and finally 21%.
The highest commission level.
It took me just 7 months after I stopped treating Oriflame casually and decided to build intentionally.
In total, it took me 18 months from sign-up.
The first 11 months were spent listening to naysayers and treating Oriflame like a side hustle.
Becoming a 21% Senior Manager was my first major dream because it meant earning a commission similar to the salary I was risking my life and my childrenās well-being for every day.
On June 5th, 2017, Oriflame paid me ā¦173,000.
My salary at the time was ā¦157,000, and it had remained unchanged for four years.
When I showed my husband the commission and told him I wanted to resign, he said:
āEven if Oriflame pays you just ā¦100,000, itās better for you to stay home with the children.ā
He was skeptical.
And honestly, I couldnāt blame him.
I had tried several opportunities before that never lasted.
But I told him this was different.
And if it didnāt work out, I would find a teaching job closer to home and closer to the children.
On July 7th, 2017, I resigned from paid employment.
I was excited.
I was scared.
But for the first time since becoming a mother of three, I became the primary caregiver for my children.
Ironically, on my last day at work, traffic was terrible and I got home very late.
The next morning, I jumped out of bed in panic when I saw it was almost 5am.
Then I rememberedā¦
I was now my own boss.
I smiled and went back to bed.
Oriflame changed our lives.
Oriflame gave me time freedom.
Oriflame allowed me to raise my children myself.
Oriflame remains one of the best decisions I have ever made for my family.
Today, more than ever, I believe every mother deserves the opportunity to be present for her children while still earning an income.
