She is the kind of friend who will never sit quietly and watch you make a mistake. If Sharon is going in the wrong direction, Peculiar will tell her. If someone hurts Sharon, Peculiar will not pretend everything is fine. And when Sharon is confused, heartbroken, or lost, Peculiar is always there with her honest advice.

In many ways, Peculiar is more than a friend to Sharon. She is the big sister Sharon wished she had. She corrects her, protects her, encourages her, and sometimes even fights her battles for her. Yes, she found out Jide made a bet on her, she went and confronted Jide😂❤️

The reason I love my baby Sharon so much is because she has such a beautiful heart. ❤️

“You know what, Osato? Go find yourself a man so you can stop poking your nose into my business!” Sharon yelled.

Osato's eyes widened.

“I'd rather remain single than be hanging around and sleeping with a man who doesn't even love you!” she fired back.

Sharon scoffed.
“Oh, you're pained!”

She folded her arms defiantly.

“Jide worships the ground I walk on. He makes me happy in every way, and I will choose him over and over again. So go get yourself a man, loner! I've got my Odogwu by my side. If you're pained about it, that's your problem!”

Osato's face tightened with anger.

“You're so cheap! What's the difference between you and a whole?”

Sharon gasped.
“Osato!”

“Yes! I said what I said!”
Osato stepped closer.

“Is sleeping with him now your only achievement? After everything that man did to you, you're still running back to him like nothing happened!” Still opening your legs for him to dive into whenever he pleases, don't you have shame? You think giving him all the positions would make him stay? He will dump you again, I assure you.

Sharon's eyes filled with anger.
“You don't know what you're talking about!”

“I know enough!” Osato snapped. “And when he breaks your heart again, don't come looking for my shoulder to cry on. I won't be there!”

“Fine!” Sharon shouted. “I don't need you!”

The two women stared at each other furiously.

Peculiar had been watching them exchange insults until she finally lost her patience.

“ENOUGH!!!”

Her voice echoed through the room.

Both Sharon and Osato fell silent.

Peculiar walked between them.

“Are you both children? Look at yourselves!”

She shook her head in disappointment.

She grabbed Sharon's hand.
“Come with me.”

Sharon resisted slightly.
“Peculiar—”

“Come!” Now!!
Peculiar pulled her toward the corner of the living room, away from Osato.

Osato remained on the sofa, breathing heavily as she tried to calm herself.

Peculiar turned to Sharon.

“What was that?”

Sharon folded her arms.
“She started it.”

Peculiar sighed.
“I know Osato can be harsh with words, but she's worried about you.

Sharon looked away.

Peculiar lowered her voice.
“Sharon, listen to me carefully.”

Sharon finally looked at her.

“You're my friend. I love you, and that's why I'm telling you this.”

Peculiar paused.

“I'm not against Jide because I enjoy seeing you unhappy. I'm against what could happen if you give him your heart again and he destroys it.”

Sharon's expression softened.
“He won't.” I assure you, he loves me, he has changed, I know what I'm talking about.

“You sound so sure.” Peculiar said. What if he's pretending again, remember what he did to you, you never expected it to the extent he recorded you and put you in the Internet 🛜

“Peculiar, Sharon eyes locked on hers. Jide didn't put the video on the internet. Jide is a changed man. He loves me so much that I'm still in shock. The way he pampered me, I can't leave him. I've forgiven him, and we're working things out a step at a time.

Peculiar stared at her for a moment. Are you saying all this because of the good $e. x you had with him? Remember, you have Purity, whom you never told him about. What are your plans for him? Or are you blinded by love or what you can get from him? Do you want to be just a baby mama to him?

Sharon hesitated.

Peculiar noticed immediately.
“That silence tells me everything.”

Sharon looked down.
“I love him, Peculiar.” I'm trying to unlove him, but I just can't. Trust me, he's not going to hurt me again. I'm not with him for any other reason than because I genuinely love him. I want to trust him more before I can say anything to him about Purity, our daughter.

“So, what are your plans with him, Sharon?” Peculiar asked, staring directly into her eyes. “Are you planning to be just friends with benefits, or what?”

Sharon sighed.
“Peculiar, it's a step at a time,” she replied.

Peculiar took a deep breath and shook her head.
“You're a grown woman, Sharon. You know what's good and what's best for you. But please, remember that you have a daughter in the village who is growing up clueless about her father.”

Sharon lowered her eyes.
“I know.”

“I don't want to hear that you've had another child with Jide before you even figure out where this relationship is going.”

Sharon looked at her.

Peculiar placed both hands on her shoulders.
“Can you do me one favor?”

“What?” Sharon replied.

“Take things slowly with him. Don't let your emotions carry you away.” Can you please stop sleeping with him?

Sharon gave her a small smile.
“I'll try.”

Peculiar wasn't pleased.
“This isn't a joke, Sharon.”

Her voice became serious.

“I support whatever decision you make because you're my friend. But I don't want you to repeat the same mistake. Make sure Jide proves himself before you completely give yourself to him again.”

Sharon nodded.
“Okay, Sis.”

“And one more thing…”
Peculiar pointed toward the living room.
“Go and apologize to Osato. We're all looking out for you.”

Sharon sighed.
“Okay.”

She slowly walked toward Osato.
Osato was still sitting on the sofa with her arms folded, her face turned away.

Sharon stopped in front of her.
“Osato…”

Osato didn't respond.

“Osato, please.” Sharon said.

Osato finally looked up.
“What?”

Sharon swallowed.
“I'm sorry.”

Osato raised an eyebrow.
“For what?”

“For what I said.”

Osato stared at her silently.

“I shouldn't have insulted you,” Sharon continued. “I was angry, and I allowed my emotions to get the better of me.”

Osato looked away.
“You really hurt me, Sharon.”

“I know.” Sharon held her tightly.

“And I'm only saying these things because I'm scared for you.” Osato said.

“I know you're worried about me.” Sharon said.

Osato sighed.
“I don't want to watch you suffer.

Sharon reached for her hand.
“I don't want to suffer either.”

“Then be careful with Jide.”

Sharon nodded.
“I will.”

Osato looked at her for a moment before finally squeezing her hand.
“Fine.”

Sharon smiled faintly.
“So we're good?”

Osato rolled her eyes.
“We're good.”

Sharon smiled.
“Thank you.”

Peculiar watched them from a distance and finally smiled with relief.

Just then, Sharon's phone rang.
She glanced at the screen and immediately smiled.
It was Jide.

Osato noticed the smile on her face.
“See her!” she teased. “Look at the smile that suddenly appeared.”

Sharon ignored her and answered the call.
“Hello?”

Jide's deep, playful voice came through immediately.
“My babe… the only woman in my empire!”

Sharon burst into laughter.
“Jide!”

“My beautiful woman, my happiness, the woman who has completely taken over my heart…”

Osato rolled her eyes dramatically.
“Here we go again,” she muttered.

Peculiar covered her mouth, struggling not to laugh.

Jide continued showering Sharon with praises.
“My queen, how are you doing?”

“I'm fine,” Sharon replied, laughing.

“Are you sure? Because I haven't heard your beautiful voice since morning.”

“Jide, we literally spoke a few hours ago.”

“I know,” he replied without hesitation. “But that was a few hours ago.”

Sharon laughed even harder.
“Jide, what do you want?”

“Nothing much.”
He paused.
“Are you coming around tonight?”

Sharon looked at Osato and Peculiar.
“Hmmm… I don't think so.”

Jide immediately became quiet.
“Why?”

“I want to stay with my friends tonight. They said they missed me.”

Osato nodded proudly.
“Exactly!”

Jide chuckled.
“Okay…”
There was a brief silence.
“Can I come over?”

Sharon raised an eyebrow.
“Come over?”

“Yes. At least I can see you and your friends.”

Sharon burst into laughter.
“I think you're obsessed with me.”

“Maybe I am.”

“Jide, we just saw each other a few hours ago!”

“I know.”
He laughed softly.
“But I can't help it.”

Sharon shook her head.
“You're unbelievable.”

“I know.”
His voice suddenly became playful.
“I can't stop thinking about you and all the things I want to do to you when I see you.”

Sharon immediately understood his teasing tone.
She laughed.
“Okay, Jide. Bye!”

“Wait—”

She quickly ended the call.

Osato stared at her.
Sharon burst into laughter.

“What's wrong with him?”
Osato folded her arms.
“Jide loves $.ex too much.

The way he was talking…”
She shook her head dramatically.
“‘I can't stop thinking about what I'll do you.’ Better be careful, Sharon. Don't let this man distract you again!” Don't open your legs for him oh. He go wire you another belle oh, I'm seeing the future already.

Peculiar and Sharon burst into laughter.
Sharon wiped a tear from the corner of her eye.

“You people won't let me breathe.”

Osato laughed.
“We're only protecting you.”

Peculiar nodded.
“Exactly.”

Sharon smiled.
“Thank you, my sisters.”

For a few moments, the three women laughed together.
The earlier argument seemed completely forgotten.

But Peculiar suddenly looked at the time.
Her eyes widened.
“Oh my God!”
“I'm late!”

She quickly jumped to her feet.
“I have to leave now.”

Osato laughed.
“See you! Go before your boss fires you.”

Peculiar grabbed her handbag.
“Very funny.”

She turned to Sharon.
“Please, think about everything we discussed.”

Sharon nodded.
“I will.”

Peculiar hugged her.
“I love you.

“I love you too.”

Peculiar picked up her bag and hurried toward the door.
“Bye, ladies!”

“Bye!” Sharon and Osato chorused.

The door closed behind her.

Peculiar adjusted her waitress uniform, the manager walked up to her.

"The boss wants to see you. Gabriel is in his office," she said.

Peculiar took a deep breath and made her way to his office.

The moment she walked in, Gabriel was already smiling at her. On his desk with two gift packages.

"I got these for you," he said, handing them over to her.

"Sir, I can't accept gifts from you," Peculiar declined politely, stepping back slightly.

Gabriel walked closer to her, his voice softer now. "I am trying, you know that. I travelled and all I could think about was the woman I love. I saw these and thought of you, and you won't even take them? Peculiar, tell me what you want me to do to prove that I am serious about you."

Peculiar took a deep breath. "Sir, I appreciate it, I really do. But I can't accept them knowing fully well that you're asking for something I can't give you."

"Peculiar, please," Gabriel pleaded. "Just one date. Tomorrow. Go on a dinner date with me. Ask me anything you want to know about me and I will answer honestly. Please don't push me away. I really care about you."

After a long hesitation, her heart pounding, Peculiar finally nodded. "Okay. Dinner."

A wide smile broke across Gabriel's face. As she turned to leave, he gently placed the package he had bought for her back into her hands. This time, she collected it.

"Thank you," she whispered.

The Next Day

Peculiar looked breathtaking. Her gown hugged her perfectly and brought out her glow. Gabriel on the other hand looked dangerously handsome in his suit.

When he saw her, his eyes lit up.

"Wow," he confessed, unable to hide his admiration. "You are so beautiful."

Peculiar smiled shyly, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. "Thank you."

"Thank you for coming," Gabriel said as he pulled out her chair.

They settled in and waited for the waitress to take their orders. The soft music and dim lights made everything feel intimate.

Once the waitress left, Gabriel sipped his wine and looked straight into her eyes.

"So, ask me," he said. "Anything you want to know about me."

Peculiar played with the edge of her napkin before speaking.

“Sir, you're a kind-hearted man, and I know you genuinely like me. But the truth is, I don't feel the same way yet.”

Gabriel listened quietly.

“I've thought about it so many times,” she continued. “And sometimes I wonder if it's because we're not on the same level.”
She looked into his eyes.
“You're at the top, Gabriel. You travel around the world, you meet different people, different women, people who are beautiful, successful, confident…”
Her voice became softer.
“And then there's me.”

Gabriel frowned slightly.

“Sometimes I wonder if I'll ever fit into your world.”

Gabriel slowly put down his glass.
“Peculiar…”

“Please let me finish.”

He nodded.

“I know you can have any woman you want. You've probably met women who are richer, more educated, more beautiful and more sophisticated than me.”
She swallowed.
“And maybe that's why I'm scared.”

“Scared of what?”

“Of falling for you.”

Gabriel stared at her.

Peculiar looked away.
“Because what happens when I finally fall in love with you and you realize I'm not enough?”

Gabriel's expression softened.
He reached across the table and gently placed his hand over hers.
“Look at me.”

Peculiar slowly lifted her eyes.

“You keep talking about what you think I'm looking for.”
He smiled.
“But you haven't asked yourself what I'm actually looking for.”

Peculiar remained silent.

Gabriel continued.
“I've met beautiful women. I've travelled to beautiful places. I've had opportunities most people only dream about.”
He paused.
“But none of those things made me want to stay.”

Peculiar's eyes softened.

“Until I met you.”

She looked surprised.

Gabriel smiled.
“You're not impressed by my money. You don't chase me. You argue with me. You tell me when I'm wrong.” You're free with me

Peculiar couldn't help smiling.

“You even rejected my gifts.”
Gabriel chuckled.
“Who does that?”

Peculiar laughed softly.
“I just don't want you to think I'm interested in your money.”

“And that's exactly why I'm interested in you.”

Peculiar's smile slowly disappeared.

Gabriel leaned forward.
“Peculiar, I don't want you to compete with anyone.”
He squeezed her hand gently.
“I don't want you to become someone else just to fit into my world.”

“Are you married?” she asked.

Peculiar nodded slowly.

The smile disappeared from his face.
He lowered his eyes and suddenly became very quiet.

Peculiar noticed the change immediately.
“Gabriel?” she called softly.

He didn't answer.

“Why are you quiet?”

Gabriel took a deep breath and leaned back in his chair.

“Peculiar…” he finally utter a word.

“Yes?” Peculiar replied, curious to hear his replied.

A LETTER TO MU MOTHER, MISS SHARON

DEAR MAMA,

Mama, you said you would come back for me and Grandma and take us to the city. You promised me, and I have been waiting for you ever since.
