Statements like this are exactly how division begins.
“Yorubas must accept Sharia law for peace to reign” is not a message of peace it is a message of coercion. Peace is never built by forcing religious systems on a diverse people. It is built on mutual respect, constitutional order, and freedom of belief.
Nigeria is a secular state under its Constitution. No region or ethnic group can be compelled to adopt a religious legal system as a condition for peace. That is not democracy. That is imposition.
Yes, Sharia provides moral and legal guidance for Muslims who choose it. That is their right. But faith cannot be enforced on a plural society. Yoruba land is religiously diverse Muslims, Christians, and traditional believers have coexisted for generations. Harmony there has never depended on compulsion.
You cannot preach peace while threatening identity.
You cannot demand acceptance while denying freedom.
You cannot build unity through pressure.
True Islam, true Christianity, and true traditional values all recognize that faith must be embraced willingly not imposed politically.
If Sharia guides Muslims on how to live, let Muslims practice it within the bounds of the Constitution. But no ethnic group should be told that peace depends on surrendering to a religious legal framework.
Nigeria’s strength is diversity. Peace comes from justice and fairness not dominance.

"I once allowed a female teacher looking for house to stay with me briefly until she pays up for her new house.
I told her the only person who knew about the arrangement was the proprietor who would understand.
She agreed to be discreet.
Her discretion was to wear my Arsenal Jersey with my name behind to school.
I didn't even bother explaining. 😂😂😂"
—Man narrates how his female homeless colleague, whom he tried to help, showed up to work wearing his jersey.
