Yesterday, I made a video about hydroxyurea, but I decided to take it down because I realized I wasn’t the right person to speak about it in detail.
The truth is, I don’t use hydroxyurea myself, so I don’t want to give information based on something I haven’t personally experienced.
The reason I didn’t include it in my list of daily routine drugs is because it is not a medication that every sickle cell warrior is automatically placed on. It is prescribed by a doctor after proper evaluation, and your healthcare team will determine if it is suitable for you.
Many warriors use hydroxyurea and benefit from it, while others are not prescribed it because every patient’s condition is different. That’s why it should never be started without your doctor’s recommendation.
I prefer to talk about the medications I personally use and have experience with. Thank you to everyone who corrected me and shared their opinions. Let’s continue to learn from one another, but always remember to follow your doctor’s advice when it comes to medications.

Hi guys, I have a question.
Am I the only one who hates taking malaria drugs? 😩
Every single time I take them, I end up vomiting. They just don’t stay in my stomach at all. The only way I can even manage to swallow them is with lime 🍋🟩 .
Has anyone else experienced this? Is it just me, or do malaria drugs make you vomit too?
Good afternoon happy Sunday to everyone 🥰❤️

God… I never truly understood how people who are constantly in and out of the hospital manage to keep going until now.
Guys, I am broke. Completely broke.
I spent just about two and a half days in the hospital because my usual nurse wasn’t available, and almost ₦73,000 is gone already. Just for a short stay.
It made me stop and think about every sickle cell warrior who has to visit the hospital regularly. How do we survive? If one admission can take almost ₦73,000, and some of us fall sick almost every month, how are we supposed to cope? How much is the average salary?
Living with sickle cell is not just physically exhausting—it is financially draining too.
Right now, I honestly need help oooooooooooo. My account is empty, and I’m trying to recover and get back on my feet. Will I be able to recover kaiiiiii 😩😩2 and half days account don dry parents are trying ooooo 😭😭
Please keep us, especially sickle cell warriors, in your prayers. This journey is not an easy one, but we’re still fighting every day.
Thank you, and God bless you. ❤️
How do we make it in life ?? God I’m broke
