Baby Food & Feeding: What Every Parent Should Know
The first 1,000 days of a child's life from pregnancy to age 2 are critical for healthy growth and brain development. What your baby eats during this period can have a lasting impact on their health.
β
Birth to 6 Months
Breast milk is all your baby needs. It provides complete nutrition and enough water, even in hot weather. There's no need for water, pap, or herbal mixtures unless advised by a healthcare professional.
β
From 6 Months
At six months, babies need complementary foods while continuing to breastfeed.
Choose a variety of nutritious foods such as:
π₯£ Pap or oats
π₯ Eggs
π« Beans
π Fish
π₯© Meat
π₯ Vegetables
π Fruits
Make the food soft, thick, and easy to swallow. As your baby grows, gradually introduce different textures and finger foods.
Healthy Feeding Tips
β’ Feed according to your baby's hunger and fullness cues.
β’ Introduce one new food at a time.
β’ Practice good food hygiene.
β’ Avoid sugary drinks, sweets, and processed snacks.
β’ Never give honey to babies under 1 year.
Remember, every baby develops at their own pace. Patience, love, and a balanced diet are the foundation of healthy growth.
