I accept it can be annoying getting these signals from bike riders whether they can pick you up, especially when you are tired. But they are humans too and are hustling legitimately for their daily breads, ignoring them like they are too "little" doesn't really make sense to me. You can simply shake your head indicating "you are not taking them"(I do that a lot) other than just allowing them stand there till you walk pass and sometimes it is under the sun.
But what do I know tho?🤷
Let me try so hard and be keeping quiet on all these things👌🤐🤐.
Dealing with young people, especially teenagers, is undoubtedly challenging. It requires understanding, patience, and a variety of approaches to address their issues and guide their decisions. This is even more critical when it comes to young girls who face early societal or parental pressures to marry without comprehending the responsibilities and challenges that lie ahead.
Addressing Early Marriage Pressures
1. Education and Awareness:
A key solution lies in educating both young girls and their parents. For the girls, awareness programs should focus on the importance of education, self-development, and the risks of early marriage—both physical (e.g., health risks during childbirth) and emotional. Parents must also be enlightened about the benefits of allowing their daughters to complete their education and pursue their dreams.
2. Empowerment Programs:
Offering young girls skills acquisition, mentorship, and career guidance can help them see alternatives to early marriage. When girls are financially and intellectually empowered, they are better equipped to make informed decisions about their future.
3. Legislation and Advocacy:
In societies where early marriage persists, stricter enforcement of laws against child marriage is essential. Advocacy groups should collaborate with community leaders to challenge harmful cultural norms and promote the welfare of young girls.
4. Parental Support Groups:
Engaging parents in support groups or workshops can help them understand the long-term benefits of prioritizing their daughters' education and personal growth over premature marriage.
5. Role Models and Mentorship:
Having successful women as role models in communities can inspire young girls to aim higher. These mentors can share their journeys and the importance of delaying marriage to build a stable future.
6. Community and Religious Engagement:
Traditional and religious leaders play influential roles in many communities. Collaborating with them to advocate for the rights and future of young girls can bring significant changes in perceptions.
A Call for Change
It is disheartening that some parents, even in this modern era, still pressure their daughters into early marriages, often under the guise of cultural expectations or economic challenges. To truly solve this issue, a collective effort is required—one that involves families, schools, community leaders, and policymakers working together to create an environment where girls are supported to dream big and achieve their goals before considering marriage.
In conclusion, the future of these young girls depends on the actions we take today. By addressing the root causes and offering sustainable solutions, we can ensure they have the opportunity to lead fulfilled, independent lives.

Earlier today, I had the incredible honor of being awarded the title of Morning Star by my alma mater, Tombo Community Secondary School in Buruku. This recognition holds a special place in my heart, as it comes from an institution that played a pivotal role in shaping my academic and personal development.
I am deeply grateful to the school management for considering me worthy of this prestigious award. It is a testament to the values and education I received during my time there, and I am humbled by their acknowledgment of my achievements and contributions.
Receiving this award inspires me to strive even harder in all my endeavors, and I pray for the grace and wisdom to continue making a positive impact in my community and beyond. This recognition is not just a personal achievement, but a reminder of the importance of giving back and staying connected to the roots that nurtured my growth.
