The Centre for Reform and Public Advocacy (CFRPA) has instituted a legal action before the Federal High Court in Kano, seeking the disqualification of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu from participating in the 2027 presidential election over alleged certificate forgery.

‎According to court documents seen by Daily Trust, the plaintiff alleged that Tinubu presented forged academic certificates from Chicago State University and a fake National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) discharge certificate to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) during the 2023 elections.

‎The suit, marked FHC/K/CS/312/2026, lists Tinubu, INEC, and Chicago State University as defendants.

The plaintiff contended that Tinubu never attended Government College Lagos as claimed, noting that the school was established in 1974, four years after Tinubu allegedly graduated.

The CSO further argued that Tinubu does not possess a valid secondary school certificate, which is the minimum constitutional requirement to contest for the presidency.

It claimed that INEC had failed to act on its petition dated June 19, 2026, demanding clarification on Tinubu’s eligibility.

The plaintiff insisted those records revealed false entries and inconsistencies, including a forged University of Cambridge General Certificate of Education.

‎The prayers asked by the plaintiff included declaration of forgery against Tinubu’s Chicago State University certificate, issuance of an order directing INEC to disqualify him from the 2027 presidential election, directing CSU to strike Tinubu’s name from its records and perpetual injunction restraining INEC from uploading Tinubu’s name as a candidate.

I have also addressed open letters to world leaders, including President Trump, King Charles, Prime Minister Starmer, and the UN Secretary-General.

Today, I have escalated these efforts. I have formally written to INTERPOL Secretary General Valdecy Urquiza in Lyon, France, with copies sent to the UK National Crime Agency, the UK Serious Fraud Office, the UK Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office, and Sweden’s SAPO.

The subject of these filings is Seyi Tinubu and alleged money laundering involving a £9 million London mansion purchased through the British Virgin Islands shell company Aranda Overseas Corporation.

This property was acquired at a time it was under Nigerian government confiscation proceedings as the proceeds of a $1.6 billion fraud, documented by Bloomberg and confirmed by the Organised Crime and Corruption Reporting Project.

Under UK law, the National Crime Agency can issue an Unexplained Wealth Order, requiring Seyi Tinubu to explain the source of funds for this property. If he cannot provide a satisfactory explanation, the property can be seized—even without a criminal conviction.

Similar orders have been used to freeze £24 million in properties belonging to the wife of a corrupt Azerbaijani banker and over $730 million of Isabel dos Santos’s assets.

Through INTERPOL, a Red Notice could lead to Seyi Tinubu’s detention at airports across Europe—including Paris, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Zurich, and Stockholm—pending extradition proceedings. This is a real, actionable mechanism, not a theoretical threat.

To every Nigerian reading this: while citizens face rising fuel costs, underfunded hospitals, a weakening currency ada hardship, funds linked to the Tinubu family were being used to acquire luxurious London properties.

This stops now.

Not with noise. Not with protests that are ignored.
With Unexplained Wealth Orders, INTERPOL Red Notices, asset freezes, and the full weight of international law.

Seyi Tinubu is not untouchable.
