Black history

Matthew Henson, an African American explorer who was born in Charles County Maryland on August 8, 1866, was the first person in history to reach the North Pole.

At a young age, he was orphaned and lived with his aunt in Washington DC. However, he quit school in order to be a sailor. At the age of 12, he joined Captain Child's crew on the merchant ship Katie Hinds traveling around the world for six years. He became an expert at charting and navigating.

At age of 20, Henson was discovered by an explorer named Robert E. Peary, who was impressed with the breadth of his geographical knowledge and experience. As a result, Peary invited Henson to join him for an expedition designed to investigate the feasibility of a canal linking the Atlantic and Pacific oceans through Nicaragua.

After that expedition, Henson and Peary undertook seven more expeditions with the goal of becoming the first to reach the North Pole, which was Peary's dream.

Because of how difficult the mission was, they failed six times. Nevertheless, this didn't stop them from planning the seventh expedition. For it, Henson taught himself how to build sleds, how to master a team of dogs, and how to speak the Inuit language. Henson invested many hours of study to make the corresponding calculations.

All of the hard work and planning paid off because, on April 6, 1909, Matthew Henson arrived at the North Pole and planted the American flag. He arrived 45 minutes ahead of Peary whose progress was a lot slower because he lost several toes to frostbite.

Sadly, it wasn't until more than 30 years later in 1945 that Henson received the Navy Medal from Congress, and it wasn't until 1961 that a plaque was erected in his honor at the State House at Annapolis, Maryland.

Henson diรจd in the Bronx, New York City on March 9, 1955, at the age of 88. In 1988, his remains were moved to Arlington National Cemetery, where he was buried with full honors next to his friend, Robert Peary.

Tribalism in Nigeria has no remedy. If you think it has, tell me why every person in Nigeria is suffering like this and it is only Yorubas who can't admit it.

Politics.

Listen Nigerians. This analysis might be long but it is necessary that every patriotic Nigeria listen to it.

At the end of last presidential election where tinubu was announced winner, even though many refused to accept the results especially Peter Obi and his supporters, something happened. Tension where very high and it seems the aggrieved supporters, who were meanly igbos were going to do something terrible. While we were on it, media personalities of Yoruba extraction started something which I knew was a campaign to calm the nerves of the igbos. They started praising Igbos as talented hardworking and best in business. This was meant to message their ego so that somehow they will forget about the election and start rejoicing. And somehow too, it worked.

Now there is a new trend by the same Yoruba bloggers who praised Igbos of recent . They have started dragging the Igbo nation and I also know why and will tell you.

Right now peter obi is the most active opposition in the country. Though Sowore claims to be an opposition too, but he drag his opposition friend, peter Obi more than tinubu whom he claims to be opposing. That is by the way. Now, in other to bring the most active opposition down, his entire tribe has to be demonized, so by extension, when he, peter obi stands in the podium to address Nigerians next campaign, other tribes will be seeing him as the real demon who come to steal, kil and destroy. While they package the failure called tinubu and give you again without much stress. Now it is left for you Nigerians to choose the tribal card again over your future and the future of your children. For me, even if it is not peter obi, let it not be tinubu cos the man have failed us.
Meanwhile, one of the biggest mistake Nigerians are making is leaving media to one particular tribe alone. Therefore, we are out to tell our story by ourselves. Follow my page "unique African2" if you want alternative Media presentation, undiluted Truth and sound analysis.

Truth be told

Any union involving group of Yorubas, Igbos and Hausas will never have peace nor progress. Take it from me.

Ibrahim traore, the military leader of Burkina Faso, set to construct 5000 kilometers of road yearly. Before him, there used to be no more than 3000 kilometers of road constructed in the country since independence. Now how is he going to achieve this great feat of massive road construction? The story has it that, instead of giving out these jobs to private contraction companies, he purchased construction equipment, trained his people to do the job. That way, the construction is being down directly by government. So instead of using companies who inflate the cost and still don't deliver, burkinabes are doing it themselves.
