INTERNATIONAL DAY OF THE GIRL CHILD 2026

My Voice, My Future : Educate Me, Equip Me, Educate Me.

This October, Mkaaana Community Development and Empowerment Foundation (MCDEF) joins the world to celebrate the International Day of the Girl Child by creating a safe and empowering space for refugee girls and host-community girls to learn, express themselves and envision a better future.

Our programme begins 5th October, leading up to the International Day of the Girl Child on 11th October.

During the programme, we will engage the girls on:

* The Rights of the Girl Child
*Education and Its Importance
*Age-appropriate S*x Education
*Learning a Skill Alongside Formal Education
* Dreaming, Creating Impact and Becoming Change-Makers

We believe that every girl deserves to be educated, equipped with knowledge and skills, heard, protected and given the opportunity to dream.

When we invest in girls, we invest in stronger families, communities and futures.
