Part 2
Fat isn’t simply something stored under your skin—it’s a living, active part of your body. 🧬 Fat cells, also called adipocytes, store energy, release hormones, and help regulate important processes such as metabolism and body temperature.
When you consistently consume more energy than your body needs, fat cells can grow larger as they store excess energy. When your body needs more fuel, these cells can release stored fat to be used for energy. Fat tissue also produces signaling molecules that communicate with the brain and other organs, influencing appetite, metabolism, and energy balance.
Interestingly, fat cells don’t just disappear when you lose weight. They can shrink as stored fat is released, while the number of fat cells in the body can remain relatively stable. This is one reason maintaining a healthy lifestyle over time is important.
Your body is constantly managing an incredible energy-storage system—right beneath your skin. 👀

🧊 What Really Happens When You Chew Ice?
Have you ever found yourself crunching on ice without even thinking about it? It may seem harmless, but repeatedly chewing ice can have surprising effects on your teeth, gums, jaw, and even your overall health.
In this video, we take a closer look at what happens inside your mouth when you chew ice, why the habit can damage tooth enamel, how it may contribute to cracks and sensitivity, and why a strong craving for ice could sometimes be linked to an underlying issue such as iron deficiency.
But why does ice feel so satisfying to chew in the first place? And is chewing ice occasionally actually dangerous?
Watch until the end as we break down the science behind this common habit and explain when it may be worth paying attention to.
