I didn’t plan to build a career in operations. I just kept finding myself solving operational problems.

I started in real estate, where I set up an Airtable workspace for the team, onboarded new employees, guided them through our processes, and handled the day-to-day operations that kept things moving.

At the time, I was simply doing my job.

Looking back, I realize I was already building the skills I use today.

From real estate to marketing agencies, the industries changed, but the work stayed surprisingly similar:

Systems. Processes. Project management. Automation. Operations.

Sometimes, your career path only makes sense when you look back.

Did you take the long way to your career too?

I once spent hours trying to fix an automation that wasn't actually broken. 😂

I had built a TikTok scraper and everything looked fine. The workflow was running successfully, every step was documented, and there were no obvious errors.

But… it wasn't pulling any data.

I checked everything.

Then I reached out to the community I was learning with, and a few people even joined me on a call so we could troubleshoot it together.

We went through the whole thing.

Still nothing.

Later that day, one of the ladies from the call asked me to check the TikTok username I was using.

Turns out… I was using the display name instead of the actual username. 🤦🏽‍♀️

And that tiny mistake was the reason the scraper wasn't pulling the data.

After all those hours, the automation itself wasn't the problem.

The input was.

That experience taught me to always check the basics before assuming a workflow needs to be rebuilt.

Sometimes, the smallest detail is the biggest problem.

My Monday doesn't start with “let me check my emails.” 😂

It starts with morning prayer🙏🏽

Then I brainstorm a little about the day ahead, read my book, and spend about 30 minutes to an hour taking a course or learning something new.

After that, I head over to Notion.

I check my to-do list, write out what needs to be done for the day and then… time to work! 💻

Once work is done, I take a few minutes to write down anything I need to carry over to the next day.

Then I close my laptop, have my me time, check out a few opportunities on Upwork 😂 and eventually call it a day.

It's not a complicated routine.

It's just my little way of making sure I'm taking care of my faith, learning, work, growth and myself, one day at a time. ❤️

So tell me… what does your Monday actually look like?

You’re probably using Airtable’s Grid View too much. 👀

Grid View is great.

But if you’re managing projects, campaigns, or multiple layers of work, there’s an Airtable view I think more people should be using:

List View.

Why?

Because sometimes you don’t need to see more data.

You need to see how the data connects.

For example:

Campaign

↳ Deliverable

↳ Task

↳ Subtask

Instead of looking at a long list of rows and trying to figure out what belongs where, List View gives you that hierarchy in one place.

It’s especially useful for:

→ Project & task management

→ Marketing campaigns

→ Product roadmaps

→ Content production

→ Client deliverables

→ Any workflow with parent/child relationships

And one of my favourite things about it?

You can pull information from different levels of your linked records into the same view.

So you’re not just looking at a database.

You’re looking at the structure of the work.

That’s the difference.

Airtable has several views for a reason. The goal isn’t to pick one and use it for everything.

Use the view that matches the question you’re trying to answer.

Grid: What data do I have?

Kanban: What’s moving through each stage?

Calendar: What’s happening when?

List: How is all this work connected?

If you use Airtable, try creating a List View for one of your projects this week.

You might be surprised by how much easier the work becomes to understand.
