Let's talk about red flags - things every client should know before booking a lash appointment

Under normal circumstances - without diabetes or hormonal conditions - lash extensions should shed together with your natural lashes.

If extensions are falling off without a natural lash attached, in 99% of cases this indicates an application error.

That's why I always ask my clients to look at their shed lashes.
Ideally, you should see exactly one natural lash at the end of each extension.

• No natural lash → poor bonding or prep
• Multiple natural lashes → improper isolation (this can cause long-term damage)

Another major red flag is zero preparation.

If you lie down, your lower lashes are taped, and the artist immediately starts applying extensions without cleansing and prepping your lashes first

🚩that is a HUGE red flag.

From a health, hygiene, aesthetic, professional and retention standpoint, proper lash preparation is non-negotiable.

A simple but powerful question you can ask a new lash artist is:
"Do you sell lash shampoo or aftercare kits?"

Not every professional sells them, but those who understand aftercare usually understand preparation too.
