Varicose veins are characterized by abnormally twisted ,dilated superficial veins that are caused by inefficient or defective valves within the vein
Varicose veins are most common in superficial veins of legs
Symptoms of varicose veins are
# swelling in calf region
Heaviness in b/L lower limbs
Pain or burning in legs and feet
Night leg cramping
Itching around blood vessels
In Ayurveda, varicose veins are correlated with a condition called Sirajgranthi, where vitiated Vata and Rakta (blood) cause the veins to become dilated, hard, and tortuous.
While it can provide significant symptomatic relief, it is essential to understand its therapeutic benefits .
How Jaluka Therapy Works
Medicinal leeches function by drawing out localized, stagnant blood (Dushta Rakta) from the surface of the skin. However, the primary therapeutic benefit actually comes from the bioactive compounds found in leech saliva, which are injected into the bloodstream during the process: &
Hirudin & Calin: These act as powerful natural anticoagulants and platelet aggregation inhibitors, thinning the blood and breaking up micro-clots to improve blood flow.
Anti-inflammatory & Analgesic Agents: These compounds actively target localized
inflammation, offering noticeable relief from the throbbing pain, heaviness, and
burning sensations common in varicose legs.
Vasodilators: Compounds like acetylcholine help widen local blood vessels, which improves microcirculation and tissue oxygenation, helping to reduce skin discoloration

Scam in the Name of Ayurveda
One of the biggest misconceptions today is that if a product contains herbs, it is Ayurvedic.
It isn't.
Ayurveda is far more than a collection of herbs. It is a time-tested system of medicine with well-defined principles for selecting ingredients, processing them, combining them in specific proportions, and prescribing them according to an individual's unique health condition.
There is a reason classical Ayurvedic texts describe how a herb should be processed, the form in which it should be administered, the appropriate dosage, and the right medium (Anupana) for consumption. These are not optional details, they are fundamental to Ayurvedic practice.
Simply adding a few herbs to a product and calling it "Ayurvedic" does not make it authentic Ayurveda.
As an Ayurvedic doctor, my request is simple: don't mistake clever marketing for centuries of medical science.
Respect Ayurveda for what it truly is a holistic, individualized system of healing, not just a label on a package.
Herbal doesn't always mean Ayurvedic. And Ayurvedic should never be reduced to a marketing buzzword.
Being an ayurvedic doctor i always belived medicine alone cannot heal person
Its the small changes in lifestyle that cures them from illness

IBS and IBD are often confused, but they are not the same condition.
As a Ayurvedic physician, I meet many patients who struggle silently with digestive symptoms for years without understanding what their body is trying to communicate.
Constant bloating, abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation, food intolerance, fatigue, anxiety around eating, and gut discomfort can deeply affect both physical and emotional wellbeing.
Understanding the difference between IBS and IBD is extremely important for proper management and treatment.
◆ IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) is a functional gut disorder.
It affects how the digestive system works, but usually does not cause visible inflammation or permanent damage in the intestines.
Common IBS symptoms include:
1. Bloating
2.Gas
3.Constipation
4. Diarrhea
5.Abdominal cramps
6.Food sensitivities
7.Stress-related digestive flare-ups
IBS is strongly connected with:
Stress & anxiety
Gut-brain axis imbalance
Poor sleep
Irregular eating habits
Processed foods
Gut microbiome disturbances
◆ IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease) is a chronic inflammatory condition that includes diseases like Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis.
Unlike IBS, IBD involves actual inflammation and damage inside the digestive tract.
IBD symptoms may include:
▲ Severe abdominal pain
▲ Blood in stool
▲ Chronic diarrhea
▲ Weight loss
▲ Nutrient deficiencies
▲ Fatigue & weakness
▲ Loss of appetite
If left unmanaged, IBD can significantly affect nutritional status, immunity, and quality of life.
This is why nutrition therapy plays a critical role in both conditions.
As a Ayurvedic doctor, my focus is not only symptomatic management - but also identifying triggers, reducing inflammation, supporting gut healing, improving nutrient intake, and helping patients rebuild a healthier relationship with food.
Gut health is deeply connected with:
Hormonal balance
Immunity
Mental health
Energy levels
Skin health
Metabolism
Healing the gut requires patience, consistency, personalized nutrition, stress management, hydration, sleep, and lifestyle modifications - not random restriction diets from social media.
Your gut speaks through symptoms. Listening to it early can change your health journey completely.
