Tiny toes, big excitement! 🥳💅

Well this is kinda cool, right?! We had a girls pamper party, but there was one little twist... the girls couldn't have gel colour on their fingernails, so they came up with the perfect solution.

Toe nails it is! 😍

Love how excited kids get when they realise there are still ways to join in on the fun. The giggles, the colour choices, the serious discussions about which shade and stickers were the best...! 😂

Who says pamper parties have to be all about fingers? These little toes are now ready to show off their fresh colours in style. 🌈✨

7am, Energy Drink, and squiggles... ☕💅

This client makes me laugh because every time she turns up without a design in mind, we somehow end up back at squiggles 😂

Not that I'm complaining.

They're fun, they're different, and no two sets ever look exactly the same.

It has become her unofficial signature style.

No inspiration photo?

No problem.

No idea what colour to choose?

We'll figure it out.

No design planned?

Let's throw some squiggles on it and call it a day 🤣

The best part is watching a set come together when there isn't a strict plan. Just picking colours, having a chat, and seeing where the creativity takes us.

And can we take a moment to appreciate the dedication?

A 7am nail appointment deserves a medal.

Most people are still deciding whether they're awake at that time, and we're already talking nails and creating a fresh set before the rest of Auckland has even had breakfast 😜

A phone call from my next-door neighbour? Now that's a first! 💚✈️

I get a message wanting to book in for nails and it turns out it's my next-door neighbour.

How cool is that?!

The brief was simple...

"I need something bright."

Not just bright.

Crazy bright 😂

Because she was jumping on a plane to Fiji the very next day and wanted her nails to match the holiday vibes.

Challenge accepted 💚

And before anyone asks...

Yes, these are her natural nails 😍

No extensions.

No added length.

Just her own beautiful nails with a colour that was impossible to miss.

The best part about this set was that there was absolutely no playing it safe.

If you're heading to Fiji, subtle can stay at home.

Give me the bright green.

Give me the tropical vibes.

Give me the "you can probably spot my nails from the other side of the resort" energy 🤣

Mission accomplished.

Now all that's left to do is enjoy the sunshine while the rest of us sit here wondering if we can fit in her suitcase 🌴☀️💚

The retirement village gossip is wild... 😂

You think I'm turning up to do nails.

What I'm actually turning up for is the latest episode of whatever drama has unfolded since my last visit 🤣

This week's story had me in stitches.

One lovely lady decided she was going to start a rumour about one of the nurses. Don't worry, the nurse knows all about it and has been playing along from the very beginning.

So apparently the nurse had been cleaning some blinds.

And somehow...

Somewhere...

The story turned into her going on a blind date 😂

Yep.

A blind date.

Because she was cleaning blinds.

I wish I was making this up.

Now the whole story has grown legs and apparently there's already talk about a second date.

The problem is they're now having to come up with reasons why things are or aren't progressing because everyone is invested in the relationship that never existed in the first place 🤣

I swear these ladies could write a soap opera if they put their minds to it.

But when you're surrounded by the same four walls every day, you've got to create your own entertainment somehow.

Safe to say I'm fully invested now.

I've done the nails.

I've heard the gossip.

And I can't wait for the next appointment to find out what happened on date number two 😜

Imagine walking into the nail van and creating your own colour... 🎨✨

Not choosing a colour.

Not picking one off a swatch stick.

Actually creating your own combination from scratch.

That's exactly what happened with this set.

A little bit of this.

A little bit of that.

A few "what if we tried..." moments.

And before we knew it, we had created something completely unique.

I have to admit, I actually gasped when this one was finished 😍

The funniest part?

I can't even remember exactly what colours we used!

I've been staring at the photos trying to work it out, and I think I need to go sit in the nail van and investigate because I need this set back in my life 😂

You know a colour combination is good when you immediately start planning how to recreate it on someone else.

The best designs are often the ones that weren't planned. Just a bit of creativity, a bit of trust, and a whole lot of "let's see what happens."

Safe to say this one will be making a comeback 💖

First Mum gets her nails done... then the boys line up 😂💙

I've accidentally started something.

Every time Mum's appointment is finished, the boys come wandering over wanting their turn too.

No nail polish.

No fancy nail art.

Just a little bit of cuticle balm rubbed into their nails and fingers and suddenly they're feeling like a million bucks 🥰

The smiles afterwards are priceless.

It's become one of those little traditions that nobody planned, but everyone seems to love.

And really... who decided pampering was only for girls?

Looking after yourself doesn't have an age limit, and it certainly doesn't come with a boys-only or girls-only rule.

Sometimes all it takes is a little bit of attention, a little bit of care, and a moment that makes someone feel special.

The boys seem pretty happy with their mini pamper sessions, and I'm not complaining either 💙

Can we talk about feet for a second? 😂🦶

Without fail, almost every pedicure appointment starts the same way...

"I'm so sorry about my feet."

Or...

"Please don't judge them."

Or my personal favourite...

"I should have done something with them before you got here." 🤣

And every single time I'm thinking...

Why are you apologising?

You're literally booking a service to have your feet looked after.

That's like apologising to the hairdresser because your hair needs cutting or apologising to me because your nails need doing 💅

Your feet have been busy.

They've been carrying you around all day.

They've survived summer jandals, winter socks, chasing kids, running errands, standing at work, and everything else life throws at them.

They don't need an apology. They need a little bit of TLC.

The funniest part?

People seem to think feet are the most embarrassing thing in the world.

Meanwhile, I've seen enough feet over the years that not much surprises me anymore 😂

Although, I do have to admit...

I'm probably just as anti-feet as everyone else.

I just hide it a little better 😜

So next time I turn up for your pedicure, no apologising allowed. Just sit back, relax, and let me do the hard work 💖

The smile says it all 💖

One of the most special parts of Nails on Wheels isn't the nail art, the glitter, or even the finished set.

It's being able to visit people in their own homes, especially those who are elderly, less mobile, or finding it difficult to get out and about.

A lot can change as we get older. Getting out for appointments isn't always easy, and sometimes the little things we once enjoyed can slowly disappear.

That's why I love bringing the pamper session to them.

A comfortable chair.

A familiar room.

A friendly chat.

And a little bit of time dedicated entirely to them.

By the end of the appointment, the nails are done, but that's not what I remember most.

It's the smile.

The confidence boost.

The stories shared.

The feeling that someone took the time to make them feel special.

Just because you're limited in where you can go doesn't mean your pamper session has to be.

Everyone deserves to feel cared for, no matter their age or circumstances 💕

Keeping this one quiet has been harder than I expected.

The problem is that every appointment I've had lately, I've wanted to tell everyone!

What I can tell you is that it's a pretty big one.

For now, you'll just have to keep guessing while I sit here trying very hard not to spill the beans 😏✨

A rainbow exploded on the nail table... 🌈✨

This set was so much fun to create.

The inspiration photo looked completely different when we started, but as we got chatting and throwing ideas around, it slowly became its own thing.

One little tweak here.

A different colour there.

Then suddenly we were adding pigments, playing with jewels, and pulling out the isolated chrome.

Before long we had gone completely off script 😂

These are the appointments I love because there are no strict rules. We get to be creative, experiment, and see what happens when a few ideas come together.

The best part?

The nail table started the appointment looking clean, white, and organised.

By the end it looked like a unicorn had sneezed all over it.

Pigments everywhere.

Chrome dust floating around.

Gems rolling across the table trying to make a run for freedom.

Pure colourful chaos.

And somehow out of all that mess came this beautiful set 💖
