WE’RE HERE TO HELP
Our dedicated team of Pinc&Steel Cancer Rehab Physios and OTs, are working hard during this extraordinary time to provide frontline care at hospitals, while others have reorganised their outpatient services and private clinics so they can continue to provide vital support via Telehealth.
Although many of our clinic doors are closed, we are still very open and available to support people through online consultations.
🟢How does Telehealth work?
➡️ The online consultations enable you to discuss your symptoms, questions and concerns with a Cancer Rehab Therapist in the comfort of your own home, eliminating travel time and risk of infection.
➡️ Your Physio can assess, diagnosis and treat online. They will ask a series of questions about your symptoms (condition) and safely guide you through a series of tests and movements to diagnose your condition.
➡️ They can develop a personalised recovery plan and show you what you can do to help manage your symptoms. This may also include how other people you live with can help and support you with your rehab.
➡️ It is a really vital way to continue with your rehab and not lose the gains you have made. Your Physio can check you are doing your exercises correctly and progress them. This is so important from a physical and mental health point of view.
➡️ Physical impairments that might be relatively easily addressed if detected early can become very difficult to treat and costly if they have progressed over weeks and months. Therefore, it is important if you are worried about something (for example, something is painful or doesn't move well), you make use of Telehealth services.
🔅We’ve had wonderful feedback already from people using our Telehealth services regarding their gratitude in someone being available and able to reassure them.

We are proud to promote the first ever Worldwide ‘Cancer Rehab Awareness Week Campaign'
There are so many people missing out on cancer rehab services due to a real lack of awareness.
This has to change to minimise the risk of preventable long term disability and suffering for anyone affected by cancer.
The objectives of this week are to:
☀️ Raise awareness about the importance of physical and mental cancer recovery,
☀️ Promote help seeking behaviours and physical and emotional well-being practices, and
☀️ Prevent the risk of preventable long term disability and suffering for people affected by cancer
The Cancer Rehab Awareness Week is scheduled for the 25th April to 2nd May 2020.
The side-effects of cancer and cancer treatment are real but often it’s only the survivors and their loved ones who know the ongoing difficulties cancer treatment can bring.
Difficulties that can be helped, if only people knew!
No one should be left to rehabilitate from the affects of treatment alone.

Today is #worldcancerday
This World Cancer Day I want to acknowledge that the struggle after a cancer diagnosis is real. Many men and women our we look after, tell us about their struggle and the terrible feeling of loss of control.
You can't control your diagnosis, your test results or treatment side effects. You may even feel like you've lost control over your work, finances and the reactions you receive from loved ones.
Pinc & Steel’s Cancer Rehab Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists are dedicated to helping to reduce the struggle for people with any type of cancer.
We believe no one should face this struggle on their own.

Read the story on my running evolution and the key run set I’ve been using to facilitate change. My passion for endurance sport started with mountain running. I’ve raced almost every style of multi sport and triathlon since then and found myself choosing to dedicate to Ironman distance. It’s only been 18 months but I’ve always know that running a sub 2:40 marathon off the back of a swim and bike was where I needed to be. This is the key run session I have built on over the last few months and which earnt me a sub 8hours in Cairns

#ACLrehab #AcceleratePhysio #RunStrong
Injuries are a part of sport, but when I partially tore my ACL last October, I thought my season (and career) could potentially be over. We decided not to tell anyone so that I could just focus on recovering. I chose not to have surgery, and instead work harder than ever to get back on the pitch so I could continue to do what I love. Here’s a little video that recaps my #RoadToRecovery. #DC10 #Rugby #HardWork
