I can’t express this enough - I’ve come back to the industry to educate our whānau, while getting a cheaper service it’s the aroha inside me that excites me to hear stories and share stories. Our struggles our joy and everything in between. You could probably say this is me putting myself back out in the community. REAL AND RAW CONTENT ‼️

I wanted to share something similar I wrote on my personal page - My WHY to my small business and my WHY to being innactive

I lost two very important people close to my heart, I became a mother figure to my 3 younger siblings I was lashing and studying at the time it all came to a hault I now had to care for a 2yo and 11yo with my Fiancée.

In between this I was struggling with finding the agencies who could help me “siblings raising younger siblings” there is help out there for “grandparents raising grandchildren” single parents, but what about US, the ones who loose their parents at a young age where is the help? I struggled, with my tinana, my hinengaro I was all over the place.

I continued within the industry for a couple of months- but I couldn’t give my 100% to the people who genuinely wanted to see me to support my passion and service, you see people never came to me for “just a service” they came to wananga, they came for the experience, the stories I shared, the feeling of aroha I so freely gave, the day time naps, the loud belly laughs while your getting lashes or your nails. I’ve worked in two very different industries since, but continued to try and pursue my passion. I once lashed a client and I can recall them sayin “Brookiie I feel so much lighter then when I came I can breathe” LIGHT BULB MOMENT- I wanted that, I want to breath too! I want to feel lighter, and then I stumble across wananga- Mahi Wairua, where we learn all about ourselves, and get to contribute to our whanau and communities, you get the gist of it. This is where I learnt to become lighter, softer, kinder more aware of the challenges we all face on a daily. This is where the fire ignited again and my motivation came back, I had whanau coming to me asking for hui because siblings were raising younger siblings, whanau experiencing mental health challenges, drug addictions, Whanau just needing to know someone actually cares or just needed time out.

So this is my WHY. My vision

My goal, to create a safe healing space. Where whanau come to me not only to enhance their appearance, but to relax, recharge, feel connected and cared for its more than just a service its an experience a wananga itself - Its a about promoting Te whare tapa whā through the skills and experience I have and sharing.
